I'll insult EPL thick as mince players as I see fit cheers. These people live their entire careers in a very rarified bubble with the very best possible medical staff and advice. And yet still they go down like ninepins. Ask yourself why that might be? ???

My God. You are actually getting worse.

We need to know how many Man Utd players tested positive for Covid as this number will set the standard for postponement criteria. It seems to be a lower number than the Spurs outbreak of last week.

Which makes me question if we are pushing for a postponement and if not why not. It might not be much fun watching a patched up team getting slaughtered when the option was there to request a abandonment

Simply not true. No one has signed a confidentiality contract, and no one knows for sure. Speculation isn't breaking a confidentiality agreement, nor is it libelous as having covid isn't a disparaging accusation.

Doctors are automatically obliged to keep medical details confidential. Obviously, in sport, doctors will discuss prognoses with the player and manager.
It is nobody else’s business and could result in being sacked like the groundsmen a few years ago, giving out team details. A player could be ill with a stomach upset, not train, but tittle tattle could label him as having covid.

There's no reason to think it's off yet.

Well if the players affected are unavailable for tonight's game, and that was reason enough to postpone it, they are still going to be unavailable on Saturday. And if anything, the number of infections is likely to spread. Extremely unlikely it will go ahead.

Sorry Bozza, I can't do that before Thursday. Yellow/Red card me if you like. But if the club only pay the minimum of lip-service to enforcing covid restrictions in the concourses like they have done up til now ie 5 people in every 100 wearing a mask, then it doesn't exactly install confidence in the club's regime overall. Or probably any other club's regime likewise. As I say, ban me now or ban me on thursday. And apologies for any grief you may incur from the club. If you do, the fault is all mine, albeit done with the best of motives ie to raise their covid game on the concourse. Of course it's always possjble they might do that on Wednesday night, in which case I will be absolutely delighted to retract after the game

I don't follow your logic here. How is making assumptions about player vaccine status and insulting player intelligence going to encourage the club to be more stringent in making sure fans wear their masks? You've also made the comment about their privileged bubble - something that, by it's very nature, is completely separate to how the fans behave.

I don’t believe it was because of the number of players out at this stage.

It was more to do with the players who tested positive had been in close contact with the rest of the squad so they needed time to see how much it had spread.

It is possible by the weekend if no more players test positive that they will be told to play the game.

That however I’d imagine is the same situation with us, GP said there was another round of testing yesterday so if that throws up some more positive results I’d imagine we will be calling both tomorrow and Saturday off.

It’s actually only two players, (appreciate GP said 3. I’ll take his word for it, he knows better than me haha) one of which has been named already on the thread and was a false positive, so all a bit of an exaggeration. (I don’t know why Naylor is saying 3/4. Which I read as three quarters of the players, but assume he meant 3 or 4.) The club have done an amazing job thus far to remain pretty much Covid free considering the BAHA players (generally speaking, without being in any way specific) are actually quite anti vac believe it or not. (Or at least they were, this may have more recently changed.)

They’re all in this morning for a special test session. So hopefully that’ll give them all the confidence that they need.

100% this.......amazing how some think being a fan entitles anyone full access to info on an individual's health.....................and club finances, transfer negotiations, player wages etc etc etc.

GP said "We're around three... three-ish. Three-four." so thats probably why Naylor says it as well. Could be down to a number of a things I suppose, maybe someone had symptoms but didnt test positive or maybe someone was getting mixed test results.

Just got a text off a mate that saw a maskless Robert Sanchez in Hove Tescos this evening. You'd think the players would be doing everything possible to not catch omicron. Surely he could afford the delivery fees and stayed at home?

Presumably as tests everyday knows is not positive so doesn’t need wear a mask to protect others

Mask doesn’t actually do very much in way of protecting yourself.

It’s more about protecting others if you have it

Wearing a mask doesn't stop you from spreading it. Other people wearing masks while you don't because you had a negative LFT this morning, won't stop you catching it. It reduces the chances some, yes, moreso than you wearing the mask and them not. But if you wear a mask and they wear a mask, it reduces the chances of spreading the virus even more than just one of you wearing the mask. So it's sensible to do so even if you had a negative test before heading out.
