Last nights performance was a disgrace, we need to drop Rooney, and play Crouch and Defoe, up front, both have a good scoreing record, and we need to score some goals!!

thoughts please

Rooney will never do that well for England till he learns to embrace the National pride, and sing the f***ing anthem. Moron.

So, I suspect you were spouting this all through the qualifiying when Rooney was our top scorer! Carragher sang the anthem but he turned his back on his country for several years.

Relunctantly I agree just as long as it's not at the expense of Lennon like last night.

Will make no difference who is upfront if we don't sort the midfield out.

Two options for me, and neither of them include Lennon or SWP

James

Terry, Dawson, Upson

Johnson, Gerrard, Barry, Lampard, A.Cole

Rooney, Defoe

or

James

Johnson, Terry, Upson, A.Cole

Barry

Lampard, Rooney, Gerrard,

Defoe, Crouch

Correct. I would not play anyone who does not have enough pride or passion to sing our anthem.

I'm glad Capello is the manager and not you then. :wanker:

its a shame spain dont take this attitude really - out of their 2008 european championship final winning team, the following would not have been playing:

silva
fabregas
xavi
puyol
capdevilla
senna
marchena
iniesta
torres
ramos
cassilas

Unthinkable to drop Rooney, but on what he did last night (during the game rather than after it) it should happen

Rooney has been nowhere to be seen in the last two games. I would drop him to and go with the above. Maybe coming off the bench may give him a kick up the arse he needs.

Not all his fault as the formation and supply into him hasn't been great, but we need something to change and FAST!

I remember there being a stat not too long ago that said all of crouches england goals have come in games in which he starts (he may have managed to score as a sub recently to change tat, but that would still mean almost all of his goals come when he starts). Crouch as a sub, therefore, isn't likely to get us goals.

To get something from him, he has to start.

Didn't Defoe and Crouch have a very productive England friendly last year? I definitely think it's a front pairing that deserves serious consideration for wednesday.
