Discovered him via Dom Jolly’s 90s show. Always played his anthem at some point. Beautiful as others have said.

I had the original album with “if you could read my mind” in the early 1970s. Beautiful song beautifully sung. That album also had a version of “Me and Bobby McGee” on it, which was great too. ( Only later did I come across Janis Joplin and her version.) he wrote some great songs.

Great song - and GL cherished it so much, he refused Dom Joly permission to use it on the DVD as he didn't find the show funny. It was only allowed on the TV broadcast.

Saw him at RAH a few years ago. The best Canadian singer since Harry Chapin. (Not counting Geddy in this one as hardly a Ballard singer.) Sundown being my favourite song.
Strange, I'm a big Harry Chapin fan, and until your post I didn't realise that he was Canadian.
