Grant Hanley picked up an injury in Scotland's game against Georgia on Saturday. Greer looks favourite to take his spot against Poland tomorrow.

Good luck GG.

(Don't work too hard though - Saturday is clearly way more important...)

This will take him to joint 9th in the all time most capped Brighton players list

Just counting caps won whilst AT Brighton, obviously.

This would be Greer's fifth.

Who are the 8 above him?

Nelson
Grealish
Ryan
Penney

Chris Birchall??

Stick a £5 on him as an any-time scorer, I guarantee it.

"Joint 9th" is a bit misleading. It is true that he will have the 9th highest number of caps at 5, but there are 9 players above him with more caps (because both Gerry Ryan and Steve Penney earned 17 caps apiece). He will be the 10th most capped Albion player.

astonished that greer isn't 1st choice ahead of hanley.

Hanley isn't half the player greer is
My Scottish mate who lives down here says the same. He gets to a few albion games and is bewildered how GG isn't considered a surefire pick. He says after every Scotland game the consensus on phone-ins/forums etc is Hanley is terrible and needs getting rid of.

I saw it as he'll be joint 9th with CMS on 6 after tomorrow.

Bizarre that our fifth most capped player hasn't been anywhere near our first team!

Thanks great list. I thought Dean Saunders might be higher but I guess we sold him quite quickly.

Makes me smile that we can have our fifth highest capped player and he's barely ever threatened to get in the first team with us.
And yes, I realise he 'only' plays for Latvia. But still.

Which makes me wonder: which national team could the Albion beat these days? Need to be worse than Blackpool, mind.

How many caps did Steve Foster get? I recall his World Cup appearance against Kuwait, but am struggling after that?
