Regardless of how you feel about his act, he had the best intro music of any comedian since or before.

Saw him at the Dome in 1988. One of the best nights of my life.
I was there he was great.He stayed regularly at the pub in Washington(outside Steyning)when they were filming and he was pissed every night but still very funny.
