The good thing is as Yazz said back in 1988, The Only Way is Up, Salt and Jordan allegedly wanted too much dough, but we had success before them, and with the right investment and development we can come good again Shirley?

Salt didnt move for money and doubt if Jordon did. Both earn most of earnings from 20/20 competitions

It does make sense for Salt at his age to move to Lancashire if he's based their for the Hundred (plus he'll get a lot more exposure on TV and stuff up there in their T20 side). Jordan I'm less sure of but I expect he'll get a nice salary bonus at this stage of his career and frankly he's done more than enough for us to do what he wants with our blessing, even if it is going to Surrey.

Jordan to Surrey would make sense were it not for the fact that he left Surrey to come to Sussex because they treated him so shabbily there.

Sorry, too slow...

I feel sorry for Delray.
He has improved a lot last year but obviously has no confidence atm.
He remains a talented player, capable at this level.
If he was shipped out to another county I am sure he would thrive.
I hope that doesn’t happen.
Roll on 2022 for delray.

Hats off to Ben Brown here.

We’d be lucky if he sticks around after the numpties deemed it necessary to take his captaincy away mid season.

Cheshire Cat

The most curious thing..
Would be a real, real shame, indeed.

Imagine though , if it RAINED for the next 3 days, resulting in minimal points for BOTH, and Warwickshire end up winning the title instead.

That would be awful.
It won't rain in Liverpool for the next few days.

31 more runs needed in the match, for Ben Brown to join Haines in the 1000 club. Really hope he does it.

He's been given the captaincy of the T20 team - that's additional money and a lot more clout.

A skipper's role is how we tempted Grizz away from Derby

“I don’t want your captaincy at a test ground with a county that will challenge at the top, because you released me eight years ago , a move that led to me becoming rich and successful “.
That would have been nice but it was never going to happen.
Btw The Albion benefited in a similar way when we got Murray back.

In other news , big innings coming up for Harrison ward

Sussex scored 300 despite six ducks in the innings.

I've been trying to find out whether there's been a higher score with that many ducks? I bet there haven't been many

I'm not certain this list is absolutely complete, but from a quick scroll through it appears the previous record was 295 in Canterbury v MCC in 1922/23.

Weirdly, from the dates of that match they appear to have had a rest day on Christmas eve after one day of play, then played on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
