This is a very unusual situation for the Albion during my supporting years as we normally are the ones getting rid of a manager. I can only think of three occasions when a manager has left when another club have come in for them. Mickey Adams to Leicester and Brian Horton to Port Vale and Coppell to Reading. Certainly we've never had a 'big' club come sniffing which, as frustrating as it is, shows how far we have come.

Of the others:-

Mullery - left on a point of principle.
Bailey - Sacked as unpopular style of play
Melia - Comedy character sacked
Catlin - Sacked for signing Fashanu
Mullery - Sacked for poor performance
Lloyd - Resigned
Brady - Left after disagreeing with the running of the club
Case - Sacked when bottom of the league
Gritt - Saved the club but then sacked following season
Horton - Left to help out his boyhood club
Wood - sacked for poor performance
Adams - Left to be assistant at Leicester
Taylor - Walked away despite promotion (probably didn't like Withdean)
Coppell - Walked and went to Reading
McGhee - Sacked
Wilkins - Sacked
Adams - Sacked (never go back as they say)
Slade - Sacked
Poyet - Sacked
Garcia - Resigned
Hyypia - Resigned
Hughton - Sacked

I think you will find all Dick Knights "sackings" actually left by mutual agreement. i.e. they didn't get paid up.

Paul & Tony on their way to the training centre, to hopefully have one last try at talking him into staying!! Clutching at straws now…

I’ve just heard it’s confirmed.

He as gone, its over.

On to the next manager. I wish the bloke and his family well.

Now on to the 5 stages of grieving.

I've asked my boss for compassionate leave today.

She's very understanding being a Leeds United fan of 50 years.

This has all far been too quick, clean and smooth. I’m already convinced Tony knew this was coming way before Tuchel was sacked…….given the amount of business we’ve been doing with Chelsea wouldn’t be a surprise to find out that the owners had been speaking.

My thoughts exactly. It's been lightening quick.

Other managers are available. Yes, Potter was great for us, but that doesn't mean that the next one won't also be great.

Look upon it as a huge endorsement of our recruitment, from Potter to Ashworth, Cucurella to Bissouma.

No one's died!!! GP was always going to move on! I trust TB and PB to have known this and they will have plans in place to take us forward. No one is bigger than the club!!!
This.

Most of us have got far more important things to think about and get on with.

If Graham Potter really is the individual who solved football management in a way that can't be replicated or equalled then we are screwed.

If he is actually just a very good football manager then we'll be fine.

Tin foil? What are you on about. Saying this was probably already set up before yesterday morning.

Your exact phrase was "sometime ago". And amongst other statements you made this one stands out as you thinking there's been some untoward happen :

"at no point has there been any indication that anyone from the club has spoken to Potter" - why do you think this ? Equally why do you think the club would indicate this to supporters ?

Been reported that Chelsea were planning for sometime and that Potter was their target.

You mean in the same why we kept an eye on Potter for sometime before we hired him ? It's standard practise.

Still haven't answered the other questions I see.
