It amazes me that people start spouting off about unproven individuals. Why exactly would Gary Stevens be a good coach. On what evidence is this based? He was a great football but then so was Bobby Moore, Bobby Charlton, etc.

We need people with proven track record to rescue the season and get us moving in the right direction. Now is not the time to gamble on someone's potential.

Yes, I find it amazing how many people think themselves an authority on the coaching skills (or lack of) of people in the game. This is surely an area which the fans have to trust the manager and club to take care of, because in reality we have little evidence of how good they are at their job other than the fact that they are still doing it! People seemed to be experts on Dean White's lack of talent because he wasn't very articulate and because of a couple of pictures!

Anyway, the original question is completel spurious as it obviously depends on who the new manager is, who will certainly have their own ideas for staff. In fact it is probably quite a good thing as for many bigger managers this is an attraction of the job right?

Someone like Burton who is assisting Jones at Cardiff and is bringing through great defenders. Someone modest but experienced who can sit in the background but make a big difference.
