Around 1974, Oldham at home, in the West Stand, evening kick off.

Went to Priestfield, only occasional visitor to Withdean as I hate it soooo much. Would rather do a few away games every season.

When Falmer opens I will not go to any 'ramp up' events or pre season friendlies. I hope our first league game will be a 'good one' as I want to arrive to be greeted by a fullish stadium (noise, colour, smell of burgers, police vans, away fans, chanting, excitement, traffic hold ups around the ground) and then I will probably break down in tears.

Myself and two friends will also have a few beers and more tears for a friend who will never see that glorious day, but he will have a seat next to us, even though it will be empty.

I can't believe no-one has asked the question, why would you go Christmas shopping in LEWES?

(1st game Bradford at home, 1970).

Clough's first game, 0-0 against York? Big Game Charlie me! Don't know if it was 73 or 74.

Whatever year it was, it was a long time ago!
