Not quite the same sense of loss now we have a new home. Great photo's though - I love that one looking along the seats.

I agree with this. Certainly the events leading to our eviction and years at Gillingham/Withdean are ones that I wish never happend, but I certainly do not miss the Goldstone. It was a very tired and outdated stadium - we had to move. Would we have been allowed to? Was the nuclear option of having no ground the only one that would allow us a new stadium. Certainly dont think that thought entered Archers mind - his motive wasn't in Albions interest - but on the other hand without losing the Goldstone where would we be now? Like Oldham?

Sort of agree-well yes i do,but not back then, and not how it was done-but Falmer is simply magnificent and it should last, about another 100 years too-check out further down the page1 - for- Goldstone Ground (part 2) for more pictures..

everything seems to happen for a reason. some good memories of the goldstone and will be dear to the heart because of that, but we are under great leadership now, building a good team pushing for progression to higher league again and the fantastic amex. I agree with Diffbrook, where would we be now if we had not lost the Goldstone? we will never know but..... look what we have now

If I'd seem these 3 months ago I would be gutted but now it simply does not have the impact. I will always look back on the Goldstone with affection and it's our spiritual home but the Amex is the future and I am living the dream

First time i have got to see a collection of photos of the ground. I have seen a few randoms here and there but never gotten a proper idea of the goldstone. Cheers for the photos. THe terraces make me wish I could experience that!

Thanks for those pictures. Like many here,I stood or sat in every part of the ground and seeing those pictures really brings back great memories. I loved the Goldstone but i'm so happy we've now got an amazing ground and an amazing team.
