I think Goldson is probably off - not necessarily to Rangers, but he needs first team football at this stage in his career, which we are unlikely to give him.

Martin Skrtel's agent says the the 33-year-old defender's move to Rangers from Fenerbahce is dead in the water becausethe Scottish club are finding it "impossible" to finance.

I wonder if Rangers will be coming back with an improved bid for Goldson this week.
Personally nothing less than £3m should be considered.

Transfer fees are usually paid in instalments over the course of the contract, as opposed to in full up front. We signed Locadia for £14m on a 4 year deal - meaning we pay PSV £3.5m a year over the next 4 years. Thats usually how it works (its recorded on the books as player amortisation each year).

What? Amortization is just a straight line accounting method, it has absolutely nothing to do with how the installments are paid.

I think 3.5-5m is about the right price. Or £2.5m with a 50% sell on fee.

He is already a quality player , he will improve year on year , selling him would be ridiculous considering the amount of money already invested in him , he will hopefully be a Brighton player for many years to come , going to rangers would be a massive backward step in his development plus the language barrier would be tricky
