Going To The Oldham Game Or Giving It A Miss?

I believe that one of the reasons for Wilkins leaving as manager was because of the fall in crowds. The euphoria of Adams didn't last long & unfortunately the honeymoon period with Slade has now ended.

I predict our lowest home gate (so far) of the season this Saturday.

It is expensive to watch the Albion and the entertainment factor is dubious.

Are your plans for this saturday going to change?

I've missed two home games this season. I've enjoyed the ones I saw, even though I left frustrated and disappointed by the results and small mistakes. I am definitely considering going. I think it'll end up depending on if amazon deliver my windows 7 and how complicated/long it is to install.

This board is filling up with bezerkers. Are they really expressing an opinion, or just a lack of intelligence?

The entertainment factor isn't too bad at times.

It's the results that are.

My main complain is the fact so many people leaving Withdean -myself included - don't seem at all surprised if we lose. I left after the Southend game not angry we had lost, but fairly chuffed we had lost but at least it had been a decent game.

What a RUTT to be in when fans are almost accepting and even welcoming an entertaining defeat.

In my defence, I was left unsupervised.

Well, I don't see a problem with the opening post, it's pretty valid if you ask me.
Indeed. And to answer the original poster's question, no, I shan't be changing my plans for Saturday; I'm still going for lunch with my father-in-law in Orpington.

Therein lies the great question. Can we be enetertained only? Does man not live by success alone?

Entertainment brings joy. Living with joy is, for many, much more a sign of success than any materialistic yardstick, financial or otherwise (i.e. points tally).

For me, while achieving a result is of course the main aim, those results are best achieved by playing well.

Of course, it doesn't always happen that way, but we are more likely to win games playing (at least in the case of the midfield and the forwards) like we did against Southend than we are when playing like we did against, say, Tranmere (by most accounts).

However, we're even more likely to win if we play like we did in the first 25 minutes against Gillingham.

Lunch in Orpington? I live in Orpington and would probably not choose to
have lunch out there!

Surely not Frankie and Benny's
