Cook's leg appears to be just behind the line which means that as the ball struck the outside of his leg there can't have been enough space for all of the ball to cross the line = no goal quite rightly.

just seen it on sky sports news..from what they showed camera was long way away, but looked a definate red

fair enough - shame though. only blot on an otherwise perfect afternoon. but i'll get over it - we have plenty of excellent young defenders to cover :)) he may not get his place back

My initial thoughts was Greer accidentally connected with the Southampton player because as soon as he went down Greer was calling to the ref to stop play.

Cheers guys - that pic suggests it wasn't over but again it's all about angles - in real time i thought it was just. But people need to remember the whole ball rule.
