I think the reason for little interest from other clubs is concerns over his serious injury, which be sustained making a brave save for our team BTW...

He drove his car into a tree, trying to make a brave save for the club????

How does that work?

god i hate that f***ing tree.if it wasn't for that he would be long gone to hull by now and the deluded fools wouldn't have had the chance to destroy the confidence of a talented kid.

Talented? He could kick resonably well, but that is hardly the primary role of a goalie, IMHO... good fcuking riddance, and a good price as well... a great deal by DK, IMHO... good luck to him, but as soon as he hit the Preston first team, they faded badly... might be coincidence, might not...

He also got injured in a game at Withdean... came off his line to save, and sustained a dislocated shoulder against Forest (not sure of the opponents, but think it was Forest)... tried to play on (bravely)...

He got injured last year against Forest, and did indeed play on, but that was a fairly minor injury - a groin strain I think.

His one major, career threatening injury was sustained in his car crash.

No, there was also the shoulder injury he sustained against Forest in the Championship, which was the reason Henderson actually came here in the first place.

But when has he let us down? Answer the question... do you always just think the manager is 100% correct, or are you capable of independant thought?

It's not one manager though is it, there have been a couple now who have at least raised questions about his ability.

He's an alright keeper, not getting any younger but probably good enough for a mid table team like us (hopefully!). I don't think he should be uncontested first choice though; either him and Martin or him and AN Other should be fighting for the jersey, IMHO.

Thank you, thought I had lost my memory for a minute there! :D

Fair enough, but I still can't see the evidence that he is 'average'... Keeley even admitted he was one of the best shot-stoppers in L1 when I chatted with him, and he was obviously biased towards his mistake-ridden protege Hendo... the FDM was a major part of 2 chanmpionships... OK, that was a long time ago, but I don't see that his performamnces have declined, and that is not surprisi8ng... 32 is not old for a keeper...

henderson was the better keepr in my opinion

however, i dont have a problem with kuipers. the only concern would be his injury proneness, as when he gets injured it does tend to be long term, and if we are fighting for anything this season - either going up or staying up - then it nay be a good idea to get in a cheap keeper who can provide back up or challenge him

Maybe, but I think we should go for a loanee if required...

Another thing, we have to throw Sullivan in at some point... isn't he older than Flinders?

Kupers can't kick for toffee, and assuming our tactic is the target man of Revell or Savage then accurate kicking needs to be taken into consideration. Henderson was an average kicker but Kuipers was crap last season which is why i believe we got Flinders in.

but as soon as [Hendo] hit the Preston first team, they faded badly... might be coincidence, might not...

You know that's not actually true, right?

Preston had been shit since early February, Hendo started playing, when, April? May? Let's face it, enough managers have had such faith in Kuipers that they've chosen to replace him.

Wrong!

Kuipers played 34 times in 2000/01.. champions of the now L2
Kuipers played 39 times in 2001/02.. champions of the now L1
Kuipers played 9 plus 1 sub in 2003/04.. L1 play-off winners...

Stick to the facts...

Did you actually read my reply? Im not denying he played 34 times in 2000/1, but he was only selected after Cartwright got a bad injury. Remember he was also hauled off at h/t at Southend. I already mentioned Taylor was the only boss to rate him, hence his 39 appearances that season, and of course only 9 in 2003/4 due to Roberts being prefered. They are the facts.

Why? We have two...Kuipers is always better when there is no pressure on him.

Anyway, anyone who thinks that Preston's third choice Goalkeeper is god needs their bumps felt.

How is he Preston's third choice? Hendo and Andy Lonergan are vying for the goalies shirt, so who is the third player?

Then why did Adam's the messiah get rid of Cartwright and keep Kuipers in the close season with just Will Packham as back up?

But when has he let us down? Answer the question...

Even only looking at last season, when he was unable to win a regular place in the team even after his rival was sold, he was APPALLING at Southend, gifting them two goals, made a Hendo-mistake at Bristol, was shite against Blackpool, blundered AGAIN against Forest at home ... given that I didn't see all of his games, five goal-costing mistakes in so few games is a pretty awful record.
