Goalkeeper Situation

I know I am a newbie to this site, and forgive me if this has already been debated to death, but I am concerned about the keeper situation at Brighton.

Kuipers is ageing and is becomming injury prone, Smith well enough said, will he be here in January, or will he have gone back to Scotland. I see we have just signed a new keeper which is good, but it is only short term as I understand.

I have heard good things about the up and coming keeper Mitch Walker, why don't we give him a chance to establish himself. Some of you may say that it is not the right time to bring him in, but is there ever a right time? Give the boy a chance....

Quick bit of advice, use the 'search' option at the top. This REALLY has been discussed!!

Brezovan starts on Friday, deservedly.

Tricky001, I see that 3 of your 6 posts relate to Mitch Walker. Are you his mother/father/fan club chairperson?

For what its worth, I also have heard good things about Walker, however for the time being I don't think anything will happen regarding the goalkeeping situation until Poyet has made his mind up regarding any further deal for Peter Brezovan.

I am a fan of Brighton and most of their players, but no one in particular. Did not expect to be jumped on for trying to be positive....

Jumped on?

Believe it was more of an observation

Wasn't jumping on you at all and certainly didn't want to seem short with you - it was more an observation in jest, I did also say that "I have also heard good things about Walker", which is certainly true - I have been told that he is a good prospect for the future. (sorry if I have offended!)

The key words being "for the future"... no way can we play a young 'keeper in our current predicament... maybe later in the season if we are safe in mid-table with no chance of the play-offs! :) Hopefully, Brezovan will work out, Smith will leave, and we will be left with 2 good and experienced keepers...

Lokki 7 - Nice comment, did you manage to think that up all by yourself? Just goes to show how short your memory is dosn't it. Remember you were new to this site once, just cause you done a few posts, does that give you the right to make coments like that? Anyway, no I am not his mum or dad, or any relation to him, just heard very good things, if he is as well thought of at the club as they say, then he is good enough to play, irrespective of how old his is. Did Everton say Rooney was to young to play, same goes for Owen, Walcott etc etc.

Showing you're true colours now then, just leading us on with the innocent (don't be nasty to me) patter earlier were we..!
You don't add up earlier either i'm afraid - You know all about Walker a young (2nd reserve U19 ?) keeper but say this about a first team squad member - ''I see we have just signed a new keeper which is good'

Just come out from the off with who and what you are...and any allegiances..coz you'll only be sussed out later :)

Not showing true colours, just annoys me that people say F Newbies, but they were new once. Also, did not back up his own coments.

I dont know ALL about Mitch Walker, all I have said, is that I have heard a lot about him. When you hear good things from people, and different people, you would hope that he is given a chance.

When I said that we have signed a new keeper, it is good for the team, if he is better than Smith. Personally I would like to see the youngsters being bought through, but if not, then we need good capable people backing up OUR first team players.

I'm not sure now is the time to bring in our 5th choice goalkeeper to be honest. He's not even playing in the ressies.
