Did anyone hear Wozza state during Saturday's match commentary that he had inside information that Harper was signing for another month?

Quite happy to see Ankergren back. Too many NSC twats moaning about a keeper who, whilst isn't a world beater, certainly distributes the ball well and is no way near as flappable as some on here would make out.

A Premiership keeper comes down here on loan for a month and if anything we look worse than before - says it all for me.

Agree.

Also Casper would've saved the two that Harper let in against West Ham and Millwall

Where is the option for Michael Poke? :bigwave:

Seeing as he can't make the bench ahead of Brez, who currently has NO VOTES, I can't see that being even a remote possibility. The Reyes one has to be more likely than Poke right now.

Probably will get shot down for this but I heard Poke is by far the best keeper in training sessions, he's played one game and yes he did f*** up but I think we should give him a chance still.

Somebody shoot him down!!

And why do so many posters write 'i'm probably gonna get shot down for this'? it seems so wimpy, i write controversial stuff sometimes and occasionally it will get picked to pieces, sometimes deservedly so. But man up and take the flak, rather than put a message out which basically says 'please don't hurt me'.

No he doesn't, and yes he does. He doesn't distribute well, and he does flap. Whether you like it or not, he isn't very good. I've nothing against the man, but as a goalkeeper? No, thanks.

I don't like it because it isn't true. You're talking utter utter bollocks about a man who was one of the first names on the team sheet last season - a season we won the title at a canter.

He is not perfect, but he doesn't really flap although maybe he doesn't claim high balls and crosses as much as he should. He also makes "unforced errors" I suppose but his distribution is excellent. How on earth anyone can suggest that his distribution is poor is beyond me.

Sorry, my mistake, I thought you were talking about Brezovan. I misread the bit where you wrote "Ankergren"... I completely agree, I voted for Ankergren. I don't think he's the best keeper in the league by any means, but he is easily the best at the club and for me, Steve Harper is no better than he is. There are only 2 flaws in Ankergren's game, he can't catch a cross and he can't deal with long range shots. His distribution and his general shot stopping is very good and until we sign someone better all round than him, he is our #1.

Love this,,,cant catch a cross and cant deal with long range shots....uuummmmm wonder what I would tell my players to do if I was the opposition manager?

Both can be solved though. Last season it wasn't an issue because teams weren't allowed many opportunities to shoot from range, so we didn't notice that flaw and we had Elphick/El-Abd alongside Greer to deal with balls into the area. He's been more exposed this season, but he's not become a bad goalkeeper. Steve Harper was no better in my opinion.

Tell me again and I might care.

I think Casper is a confidence keeper, like so many of them. Lets hope his confidence is back, because for the record I think he is a quality keeper. That said a keeper who's confidence is shot to bits, is a liability to the team. 1st thing he needs is a settled defence in front of him, all keepers make the odd mistake but Caspers real problems seemed to start when Poyet started chopping and changing the defence around. If his confidence is not back then we will have a problem, first 15 mins will be vital for him.
