Goal Music... why so bad?

Well, I'm not overly fussed each way, but some places I think it works (for example, millwall's let them all come down to the den).

It is really irritating. When you score is the one time during a match when any group of fans should not need help making noise.

Its part of the modern spectacle that the game could do without!! Saying that went to see the Albion at the Ricoh Arena a couple of years back and they had some old bloke with a mic before the game trying to get the crowd going. Was cringing in my seat!

ALSO, forster is played through, sadly the linesmans flag is raised immediately and everyone knows its offside....accept forster and the music man. Forster scores.....and the music plays...despite EVERYONE knowing its not a goal. embarrassing

horrible idea, its played at clubs with no fans who struggle to get an atmosphere i.e. Bolton, Middlesborouh etc. It is just plain embarrassing why do you need music to tell you a goal has been scored and so you should celebrate?

Remember when Palace's announcer did that at Selhurst? He even announced the scorer, never once noticing that the crowd weren't actually cheering.











It would have been funnier still had they not scored five proper goals without reply, mind.

Personally I've always wondered why the good old football rattle doesn't make a comeback. I was the only plonker in the North Stand in the 90s who used to use one when we scored.

Less traditionally I don't have a problem with goal celebration music. I think it can and does work and doesn't detract from any crowd noise in celebration of a goal.

Yeah, we won't worry about 'When are the diggers moving in?' or 'Is there going to be a Pete Canning Bar?'. First things first, we will make sure that there is not going to be goal celebration music.

Never mind anyway we let you stand for approx 5 mins not seconds and you have to stand repeatedly to get a warning let alone ejected !

I'm a North Stander, steward 433, so it's not a problem at home games - people barely stand at all over there! I was speaking in more general terms about the way the game's going, not having a pop at Brighton stewards.
