Woohooo I didn't know that! :cheery:

Now is Scotch gluten free or not? I've seen some people say it is because distillation removes the gluten proteins, whereas others say it does remove them completely. I'm not a Coeliac, so have gone gluten free simply as a choice (hence I'm a bit flippant about it as you've pointed out) and found it to be beneficial to my fitness and energy levels.

Scotch is definitely gluten free. As are all spirits, and even malt vinegar. The gluten is distilled off in the production process. Got this in writing from an NHS Dietician!

There is a world of difference between choosing to go GF for personal health or diet reasons and being compelled to because of coeliac disease. For example, I doubt anyone who chooses to go GF would think twice about ordering chips in a restuarant, it's just fried potatoes after all. A coeliac would need to know that the frier hadn't been used for onion rings or battered fish as the cross contamination risk could have serious consequences for their health.

This lot http://www.sussexbreadcompany.com/ have just won awards for their bread and also make GF custard tarts and chocolate brioche.

They also supply GF rolls to both The Trolls Pantry and Coggins & Co for their burgers.
