Don't know if it's been done (I know there's been several heated threads on the matter), but what's the general view on global warming.

Is it caused by humans or just the natural cycle of the planet?

lots of vested interests exaggerating human impact. I go for MAINLY natural cycle.

the data shows that somthing else having an influence, CO2 rising in a linear neat line and average tempuratures much more erratic.

But weather patterns themselves aren't constant every year though. What is proven is that the average global temperature over the last century is gradually warming, and this average rise is synchronised with the increase in CO2.

Humans and our actions are a major factor.

There is evidence of a natural cyclical phenomena, but we have accelerated the process immeasurably (wrong choice of word there, obviously!).

No it doesn't. That 'evidence' is distorted and maniupulated. The correlation between human action and global climate change is pretty conclusive.

There is no link between climate change and solar activity, as proved by the person who first reported a possible link last week. It's humankind almost totally.

The temperature increase is too high to be caused my natural cycles alone, I would be 90% sure that global warming is caused by humans alone.

These natural cycles occur over thousands of years MINIMUM, and the warming we're experiencing at the moment is the most rapid warming our Earth has ever seen. Hardly a coincidence that there has been an increase in temperature about the same time we started burning a vast amount of fossil fuels / started destroying a lot of the rainforest etc.

No, what is proven is a strong increase in the last 20-30 years in the rate of CO2, while temperatures have been cyclically rising and falling in an upward trend. Before 1970s there is bearly any correllation other then general trend direction.

the eviendence is distorted and selectivly presented by both sides.

Now on that we totally disagree. I am talking about the presention of evidence by scientists not the politicians. The scientists overwhelmingly support the fact that humans are having an effect on climate change. In general those who oppose this viewpoint are funded by the oil industry.

What the politicians say and do is nothign to do with the evidence. The VAST VAST majority (something approaching 98% in peer reviewed articles I believe) of climatologists support the human influence hypothesis.

Human activity undoubtedly has an effect. No one (except the wilfully ignorant) disputes that our industrial activity has had SOME effect.

But how much effect? Despite a lot of bluster no one knows. Also what will be the effects of Global Warming? Again despite a lot of bluster no one knows. Originally we were PROMISED scorching hot summers with the south of England becoming semi-desert. It was also said that water was going to become a scarce resource and future wars will be fought over it. I hope and pray that turns out to be true, we're all going to be millionaires!

Anyway I've noticed that the phrase 'Gobal Warming' hasn't actually been used that much this summer (I wonder why?). People now prefer the more accurate term of 'Climate Change'.

yes, whereas the 'scientists' put forward by oil companies to give their account will always give a balanced argument.

please.

I blame Man Utd fans, they have to travel so far from their homes to get to Old Trafford just think of the pollution from cars (probably 4x4s) and planes.
