My immediate reaction is NNNOOOOOOOO. But thinking about it, £250k for Murray, sell CMS for £2.5m... leaves a tidy £2.25m for either a new striker or BEAST in midfield. Works for me

A tidy £2.25m of which was all our money to start with less at least 250k

I really hope CMS proves you wrong this yr Tim - you seem to really not rate him.

He'd be an amazing signing for us. Knows the way we play, good in the air.. service from Vicente, Buckley, Crofts, and with CMS on his right. Yep, I'd take that.

He'd also allow us to defend corners/free kicks as he can actually win a header.

The only thing that rings true about this rumour is that Palarse might be keen to get Glenn's hefty wages off their books and he would be keen to remain living in Brighton where he is settled with his family.

Pity it's the summer holidays as I often see him on the school run and could ask him.

I'm going to be a bit bigtime now so apologies for that. When I sat next to Gus at the sponsors dinner (sorry) towards the end of last season, he said that there were no hard feelings at all and if someone offers to more than double your wages you almost can't refuse it, especially if you have a family to think of. He was disappointed to lose him (obviously) but I got no impression that he was angry at all. More surprised that Palace offered what they did.

Interestingly though, he also added the Murray is very different from most players in the way they have to be managed. Gus and Tanno could get the best out of him. Palace is quite clicky apparently and he didn't think he'd get on well up there. There were rumors of him not being happy within the squad as early as then, so this comes as no surprise at all. I asked Gus if there was any chance he could come back, he said something like 'No, it's too late. He wants to but it's too late'.

Whether any of that is true or not I don't know. I know people often just say what the fans want to hear at those events, but I've got no reason to doubt what Gus said.

Personally I think this is actually going to happen and I for one will be DELIGHTED if it does.

Any basis for it? Especially as you heard from the horse's mouth that "it's too late".

GP probably acknowledges the fan reaction would not be brilliant.

There are 50 of them, I'll take any of them over Murray. It is no good saying we were a better side with Murray in the team, it was a division lower. The evidence points towards the fact that Murray is not good enough at this level. We may as well get Craig Davies back if we are getting Murray.

I think that most of us (not all of course) recognise that his moodyness is always going to be offset by his goals.... he was rarely injured too I seem to recall. Come back Glen.
