Glenn Murray

Can't really be arsed to discuss any other points from todays game as I'm still a little angry at our failure to win the game, and I'll only be called a miserable twat by some predictable dull cretins. However, I will make one post.

Glenn Murray today.

Ran his arse into the ground today despite having bugger all service. Anyone who thinks he's lazy is a prick. Fact.

I am not sure if it's an act to keep the fans onside (cue smartarse joke) but suddenly he REALLY seems to give a shit. After his goal today (which to be honest, wasn't the best of penalties, but it sent the keeper the wrong way so who cares!) he went bloody mental. It was a joy to watch. I realy hope he's settled here now and has started to enjoy things. I might be wrong, but I imagine he probably appreciates getting support from the fans as well - don't think too many would be singing his name 6 months ago!

If we can keep him happy, if we can stay in this league, if we can keep him, if he can remain injury free and if Gus can get him firing the goals at Withdean, then we quite clearly have a superb player at this level. Not just a scorer of goals, but a creative outfit.

A lot of If's, but it's not totally unrealistic to think it might happen. And I really, really hope it does. Forster might be getting on, but Murray is still only mid twenties, and it would be great to see him still in the team at Falmer - although perhaps with a 30 goal a season man, who doesn't create as much or run around as much alongside him!

But he didn't clap the fans at Brentford!! Our best striker since Zamora in my opinion.

Re: Brentford. Stop taking the pish, Pishead!

agree with your serious point. A very good striker! (we need to keep him)

Murray was outstanding today, especially as he had to play the lone striker role. I was sorry Forster wasn't on from the start, as Leeds' defence looked shaky, particularly when Bennett, Hart and Lua Lua ran at them. Just a shame we can't seem to defend leads, as cost us against Norwich. Ghastly challenge by Virgo, rightfully given the red card. Hopefully El Abd can deputise for him. Shame, as he has been outstanding recently. Very silly today though.

Nice to see a positive post (a) from WW and (b) about Glenn Murray.

Yes, I thought he was superb in terms of commitment today - and as the lone striker, he had a very tough job. dropped back to defend when needed, ran his socks off and deserved a goal, if only a pen. And it was amazing just how much of a team player he looked as he celebrated that goal.

I don't get to see all that many games, but today's performance - by both the team and the travelling fans - was in welcome contrast to the ludicrously negative, knee-jerk crap from stay-at-home 'fans' that otherwise forms the only 'matchday experience' available to all of us expats.

In no way was it a disaster. We are well on the way back and, on today's evidence, relegation is extremely unlikely. NSC's serial moaners need to get a grip.

Have said from when we first signed him that Glenn is by far and away the most gifted footballer at the club. He was absolutely outstanding today, and if he has settled in the area we need to beak the bank to keep him at the club and build the team around him for falmer.

Gus has done well with him - lets hope he can become a prolific scorer at Withdean.
