Glenn Murray...wanker

Do you not think it was a slight reaction to roughly 18 months of unwarranted abuse?

Like I said previously, everyone on here who has met him has always said he is a top, top bloke.

Has he really had 18 months of unwarranted abuse? I'm a part time fan so only do some away games. Today was the first game that I've been to that he's had abuse. To be fair it's probably worse at Withdean.

The difference is that on Saturday the fans went out of their way to be welcoming to him, applauded him on the field and there were several Murray-based chants, and at the end as he approached the away fans he got a rousing reception. Regardless of previous idiots, that reception deserved at least an acknowledgement.

And that's without mentioning the fact that he ignored the team huddle, which I actually think is a far worse sin and is the real incident that will hasten his exit. As a professional footballer there are certain things that are expected of him, and IMO he failed on two counts on Saturday.

Why do Brighton fans like HOUNDING out our better players?

I remember everyone saying replacing Hammond would be easy...

exactly

alot of fans praise the shit ones but proper rip the piss out our good players , I mentioned this in another thread and it does puzzle me somewhat

He was forcibly sold by Rochdale. They needed the money. That is common knowledge.

But a few posts ago you were blaming Albion fans for changing his attitude to not wanting to be at the club and "forcing our best player out".

Now you're saying he turned up here with a negative attitude due to a forced move by Rochdale.

Sounds to me like it was never going to work and you're venting your dissapointment at the wrong people Glenn.

Then he should understand that we are gonna forcibly keep him. We need the goals, this is also common knowledge.

Has he really been treated like shit?

I would say so, particularly by the moron contingent.

Taking into consideration what he was doing for the club despite problems in his personal life, he should've been treated with a lot more respect.

I'm saying it as a response to people saying "doesn't look like he wants to be here" etc. Maybe he never chose Brighton in the first place?

He was FORCED TO COME HERE. Why is everyone being so unbelievably thick? No one is remembering any context at all here.

He chose to sign the contract with us. Rochdale may have been desperate to get some money, thus sell him, but that doesn't mean he was forced here. He chose to sign the contract that brought him to brighton.

Brilliant. Give yourselves a pat on the back. You've forced our best player out.

He handed in a transfer request (or three) because his partner wasn't settling down here. To blame the fans for driving him out is quite simply wrong.

Don't get me wrong, I think the reaction to saturday is way way over the top, and he did get abuse early in his time with us. But fan treatment isn't driving him away.

But a reasonably large number of our fans have never wanted him. Because he looks "casual", or some rubbish.

So, certain transfer requests are more annoying than others, are they?

He was FORCED TO COME HERE. Why is everyone being so unbelievably thick? No one is remembering any context at all here.

He was forced to come somewhere he didn't want to be, then treated like shit. I'd sure LOVE those fans, wouldn't you?

Brilliant. Give yourselves a pat on the back. You've forced our best player out.

What the feck are you on...FORCED? ? ? Where did you get that from? He doesnt have to sign a contract if he doesnt want to, does he. Get real! As for being abused, you make it sound like EVERY fan has rounded on him when in reality its likely to be a very very small minority isnt it. Lets actually look at FACTS and not supposition eh? For one RS has actually told us that GM has 'burnt a few bridges' and being a professional manager, was playing that statement DOWN. Read between the lines, he is going through the motions, doesnt want to be here, regardless of the fans adoration or not.

This is true, but like with McGhee (imo) there comes a time when a player or manager has lost too many of the crowd and his position becomes untenable at the club. We have reached this point with Murray and I'm not personally convinced he is not engineering this now either.

I do wonder that. What I'm getting annoyed at is the fact that even when he was banging them in, the crowd were getting on his back. And I think that's come back to bite us now.

I have heard people grumbling about Murray, but I've never heard him abused or booed that I can recall.
