Are you saying his wife and kid live up north and he lives down here? There's a marriage that probably won't last if that's the case. I mean if she can't be arsed to follow the bread winner for a few years as he plies his trade in a short career it does beg the question what they are doing together. Did he tell her he worked in the local grocers when they 1st started going out together or did she get hitched to a footballer without thinking it through that he may leave Rochdale to better himself?

I mean it's not like he's asking her to live in the outer hebrides with no running water or electricity,

Couldn't agree more. It's not as if it's a million miles from her home, or for ever. Still, we've been here before, haven't we, with a certain Mrs. Thomas - and much good that did her in the long run.

Murray hasnt comeout and said anything yet. So how do you know this is the case

It maybe that his agent has told him a big club wants to bid for him, and our club have stopped it. Murray may really want to go to this other club, therefore handed in his transfer request.

There are many reasons he may ant to leave. Maybe he just didnt get on with Slade, who knows?

Im sure the reason will come out, and if its not settling down here, then at least he is honest with us

He hasn't been happy from the moment he arrived. Face facts, he doesn't want to play for us. He is a decent player but not so good that we need to adopt a keep him at all costs approach (a la Ronaldo). Let's get some good money for him and move on.

Where do you get he don't want to play for us, just because he wants to be with his missus and kid don't mean he don't want to play for us. Personally even if he didn't I wouldn't blame him after last season playing in two bob stadium and fans who don't recognise quality when they see it

Yeah why don't he just divorce her so he can stay here. Sod her and the kid playing for Brighton is FAR more important than them surely :wozza:

Yeah because he was forced to sign a three year contract without knowing which club he'd be playing for and reasonably expected it to be no more than 10 minutes from Rochdale. Bet she didn't moan at the wage increase at the time.

I know what you're saying about Brighton is a better place to live, but if you're stuck at home with a young baby, with your family and close friends hundreds of miles away, I imagine it can be the loneliest place in the world.

Maybe Bloom should pay for a childminder so she can go down Oceanas for a night out. Hell, I'll babysit for an evening if it means hubby sticks around.

Ms Murray is probably only a kid (well, I say kid she'll probably be early twenties) herself, she's in a new town where she won't know anyone with a newborn (first I presume) baby. The girl needs the support of her family, and Glenn is doing ABSOLUTELY the right thing in wanting to be with his new son. I would imagine that his decision to leave Brighton was difficult as we appear to have a bright future and he was central to that, and in reality by asking for a transfer he is stepping out into the unknown...its a brave decision, but if it were me, its a no brainer......family is more important than a game of football.

Good luck Glenn....you've done the right thing:thumbsup:

I think Bloom should pay for a helicopter to bring Murray to training every day.

Anyone know what hes gf's like? Any pics? I think it will help us decide whether he should get rid of her or not. I seem to remember a thread on hre once about someone seeing him with his gf at Brighton station.

I don't see what the big deal is. He relocated for a job. His family haven't settled in the area and don't have the support needed with a new born baby so have decided to move back.

If this was any other job no one would care. Providing he is willing to do his job 100% until the opportunity and right offer comes in for the club then in my opinion his behaviour is completely reasonable.

I think the club has no option but to accept the transfer request. Having said that it should be made quite clear to Glenn that they will only sell if another club at least pays £300k. If the buying club (and there will only be a limited few up North with that kind of cash willing to take a chance) wants to haggle, then it will be for Glenn to lower his wage demands to facilitate the move.

I think it will have to be more than the 300K probably plus 20% on that as Rochdale have a sell on clause i think.

I don't need the pics, if she is asking Glen to leave the Albion she ain't worth it.

If there is a sell on on clause they would not get anyting if we sold for 300k as the sell on clause only relates to any profit made

I would want a lot more than 300k tho. The top strikers in this league seem to be quoted at around 2 million (Beckford, Lambert and the Swindon stiker)

Is the Rochdale % a straight sell on or 20% of any profit over and above the original £300k. I can not imagine that DK would have agreed to 20% extra to them if we only sold him for £200k. In which case I would be happy to settle with £300k + the wages we have paid during his injuries last season. Or better still keep him until January and hope he scores 15 goals before then.
