The rumours WERE true then, oh well players come and go but we'll be forever Albion.

Lets hope we do well from his sale, replace him with an improved model, and that he doesn't score any goals against us in the future.

Ta ta Glenn

I'm suprised. Rusell Slade has felt like a breath of the freshest air and would have expected the players who've worked with him to want to work with him some more. I only hope the transfers out have more to do with 'not settling in the area' and 'want more money' than anything else.

Crikey, we'll have a brand spanking new stadium in a 3 years - who wouldn't want to be around for that?

I've been thinking about this a bit and I'd put money on him being an albion player on August 6th.

Well if he is, expect the level of abuse to rise even more. I never understood why some of the crowd got on at him but after this is will only get worse if he ends up staying. He needs to go now as there are plenty who already think he's a permanently offside non trying player who never wanted to play for us. It will deteriorate further imo.

It also appears that he and Forster really don't like each other as well, which may just may be my imagination of course.

Beach Hut asks a relevant question I think, as I am pretty sure there IS a sell-on clause due to Rochdale. Therefore, for us to get our £300k back we'd have to sell him for MORE. That's going to be very tough I think.

I've been thinking about this a bit and I'd put money on him being an albion player on August 6th.

It would be interesting to know. I think most sell on clauses are on profit made on the deal rather than the whole amount so anything over £300K would be affected rather than all of it.

If the club get the price they paid for him, if even a little bit more, then it will probably be wise to get rid of. If not then I can see him going up on the market in January if he is still adimant on wanting to leave. Shame.

I just seem to remember that when we signed him everyone couldn't believe we'd splashed out £300k. Then, a few days later, it emerged that the deal could be worth £450k if we won promotion and that there was a sell-on clause, causing further disbelief amongst everyone who thought we were skint.

I think you're right though on reflection. If, let's say, Rochdale have a 20% sell-on then they would only get 20% of anything above £300k. Which makes my point invalid. I still don't think we'll be prepared to sell him for a penny less than £300k though, and I don't think anyone will pay that, hence my opinion that he'll be with us on day 1 of next season.

I agree about the fee. I don't think we should accept anything under £500K personally but that may not be realistic. It could be that the deal is £300K but then add ons based on appearances and a sell on (as with the Rochdale deal) so if he stays fit and does well we get quite a lot but if he still has injury problems the buying team are covered.

Personally though it would take a hell of an offer for me to think it is a good deal for us. A fit Murray (and I know the question is will he stay fit) would be a spearhead for our (hopefully) promotion push next season and I would be really gutted if he leaves.

It will be a shame if Murray leaves he's a good player but there's no point having a player here who does'nt want to be here, I'd like to think the club will hold out for a fee that matches what we paid for him though.

Whether he is right or wrong, the fact that Slade said that he is the best striker outside the Championship means he rates him. I can' t see Slade letting him go on the cheap...

As long as we get the £300k plus we paid for him, I dont care. Ok he gets a handful of goals every now and then but absolutely not a team player. Craig Davies will come good, trust me !!!

We will only sell for good profit, maybe get him to agree to wait until jan transfer window, this would force him into shop window. This would motivate the player and help our cause.

Zzzzzzz. Forster offside more times per game than Murray last season. Can we PLEASE finally put this complete myth to bed?

Do you have the figures? (I'm not overly concerned about who was caught offside more often, it shows an eagerness to get forward, imo, just curious)

Ironically, this is the sort of situation when you WANT Dick Knight to be chairman - he's got 10 plus years of dealing with agents and players. This might be a wake-up call for Tony Bloom.

Russell Slade won't want to lose him, the bigger clubs will offer peanuts because he's been crocked, the player will get more and more pissed off at the impasse.

Anything could happen but I wouldn't be surprised if he joined a Blackpool or a Derby for £250K mid-July.

It looks like Rochdale might end up with £50k of any profit on a transfer deal.

It was in the matchday programme just before Murray buggered his stomach.

Think Paul Camillin was quietly telling a few ignorant NSCers to shut up!
