Glenn Murray abuse

Right, I might be WAY off the mark here - but did I see Glenn Murray react to abuse from supporters in the North Stand (K/L area) after a scuffed 40 yard effort in the first half with sarcastic applause?

I STILL don't understand why so many of our fans don't even WANT to try and like the bloke.

Didn't see it but appalling if true.
He is a quality player. Very intelligent and will score goals IF given the right service.

Saw the sarcastic clap and assumed it was targeted at probably one heckler.

Class player and deserves a better response from a lot of fans.

The fans attitude towards Murray stinks. What amazes me is the endless obsession with whether he is scoring or not. I don't feel he needs to score more than 15-16 goals a season because his all-round game is way above League One quality. His first touch, vision, reading of the game and link play is nearly Premiership class. Do we want a player like Murray, or do we want to go back to headless chickens like Revell and Bas Savage? We should really learn to appreciate Glenn Murray because we woud REALLY miss him if he left.

I would be fed up and looking to move on if I was him, he is class but gets slated by "fans" for being lazy and absolute shite service from our team.

There was a very loud shout along the lines of "what do you think that was, why not think first?" amid some fairly vociferous groans. I was suprised at his reaction, I'm a big fan of his but it was a really really shit shot so not sure why he got the hump

Most people won't ever warm to him cos his entire body language screams 'Non-Trier'. That's how life is

'Most people' appreciate Nicky Forster busting a gut all over the pitch.

Wake me up when Murray becomes 'an efficient and effective footballer'. At a rough guess, I'd say even his team-mates are starting to regard him as a luxury.

I like Glenn Murray, and I rate him extremely highly.

HOWEVER, today he was poor. He didn't chase anything down and alot of the time Forster was doing all the legwork only for him to lose the ball with a half arsed effort. He didn't look very interested at all but I still think he'll be the business this year.

Ah, it's the "sun shines out of Alex Revell's arse" brigade.

You don't NEED to be 'busting a gut' to be a class player, nor do you need pace. And given that we've got one 'bust a gut' striker, why the hell would we need two?

Van Nistelrooy
Cantona
Berbatov
Zola
Solskjaer
Bergkamp
Sheringham
Shearer

Just a quick example of some QUALITY forwards who DON'T need to be running around every second of the game. Fortunately for them, they weren't "supported" by utter tools who can't recognise a talented footballer when they see one.

And of course, his turn and finish last friday night was completely ineffective, wheras Forsters running around like a headless chicken approach today worked FANTASTICALLY.

I saw the sarcastic clap. Had no idea who it was directed at though.

I'm in Block L and after Murray made that poor 40 yard scuffed shot when there were obviously far better options there were a number of groans but 1 person from somewhere behind me shouted out "think about it" - I think Glen probably heard this and that is what he was clapping sarcastically to?

Spent most of today yelling variants of 'think about it you morons'. Cos the players are patently NOT thinking about it. There's a seriously brainless bunch of players out there at the moment, and it don't bode well at all :dunce:
