NE, thank you.
I have never really betted on football. I have been quite lucky. Never quite got round to that forecast business.
My greatest achievements were £3 on 70/1 Koller to score first and CZE to win 3-1 against USA and some money on McShane to score win Couldn't work out how to work the net betting. It would certainly have been more than the £297 I won. Oh well.
Neither had I until, bizarrely, I got hired by a bookie. And now they're training me to run the show (no real need to put that in other than to gloat, to be honest ), even more bizarrely.
Betting over the internet is fine, and for in-play betting it's better but it's much easier to spend more money than you were planning on. Better to stick to a couple of quid to add some interest here and there. Like tomorrow, I think Murray and 2-1 is worth a quid.
Of course, that can go wrong. That Hibs-Rangers game a few weeks ago was the best example. A bloke came running up to the counter to put £10 on Kris Boyd to score first, he just about made it before the kick off time. 12 seconds later, his bet was a loser already! Classic. He was just leaving to "go and watch him bang one in" when it was announced Rangers were already losing! He wasn't best pleased.
