Stepping back from the tabloid-induced beastings Hoddle got, thats actually not a totally outrageous suggestion. We're going back a bit of course, but he did wonders at Swindon, and proved himself to be a forward-thinking, talented and gifted coach who got his teams playing very attractive football.

Whether he'd be remotely interested in taking over a team at the arse-end of the third division is very doubtful (he's quite heavily involved in some kind of coaching school in Spain for youngsters who've ben released from clubs, I believe). But I'd be FAR from horrified if Hoddle pitched up.

In fact, I'd be rather pleased I think.

Wolves were expected to finish in the top 6 under Hoddle in the 2005–2006 season but again draws cost them with Wolves drawing 19 of their 46 league games. They were also one of the lowest goalscoring teams in the division scoring just 50 goals in the league all season. Wolves finished 7th, 8 points off the playoffs. Wolves fans turned against Hoddle and there were chants against him during the last home game of the season against Watford. The board kept faith with Hoddle, but he stepped down on 1 July 2006, stating differing expectations between himself and the club as the reason for his departure. In his time with Wolverhampton Wanderers, the club drew 34 league games in his 76 games in charge, spanning over two seasons.

Zzzzzzzzzz....

He'd have us organised at the back then, which is what we need right now.
Perhaps Wolves just lacked a decent goalscorer. We've got players here who can score for fun in this league.

Let's get real, he wouldn't be interested.

Even if he was sat on his arse at home I'd be surprised if this tempted him, but he's not. He's in Spain running that football school that he's wanted to do for years, and comes back to watch CL footie on Sky.

He's on a nice little number atm, why throw all that up for Withers on a rainy Saturday, at teh arse end of the 3rd Division?

Aint gonna happen.

I agree, its a highly unlikely scenario.

BUT - you never know whats in the back of his mind. Maybe he misses football management. Maybe he'd relish a new challenge, a new project. Something different. Perhaps he fancies returning to a day-to-day managerial job in this country. Maybe we could even get some of his young "rejects" training over here, for him to integrate into our squad over time ? A long-term plan if you will.

OK, I'm struggling to convince meself, and we know it ain't gonna happen. But I'd hope Tony would pick up the phone to his agent, just to test the water. He can only say 'no thanks' of course, but.....you never know for sure till you ask !

Its only a joke insofar as its so hugely unlikely.
But if Hoddle was actually interested, I'd have him here like a SHOT.

you know what, considering the alternatives weve got now id rather have hoddle than most of the other possibles, like you say about as much chance of getting him as curbishley and hes a bit weird but at least he tries to play football.
