2) I have always said you need to go to Glastonbury at least 5 times. This way you will understand how to get the best from it and also you will get to see most of what the festival has to offer. And yes, you have to make decisions about whether to see a headline act or go to the late night areas...you cannot do both.

I think this is spot on, once you've been a few times you'll know your own likes and dislikes and then be able to plan it better. Because it was my first time I wanted to experience a bit of everything and I think that's how I ended up doing so much walking. You can't really appreciate the scale of the site until you're in it and I definitely made a few schoolboy errors managing my time.

I didn't mean to hijack this thread, will bow out now until the event. Good luck to those who are going, I'll be back in once it's started with TV watching crew

A grand?? I am fortunate to be doing both this year. I think Glasto will be less than 500 all in whereas Ibiza I think I will be fortunate to spend 500 on drinks alone for 4 nights. I think Ibiza for what is basically the same amount of time is going to cost 3x Glastonbury if I am lucky!
