Did anyone see how EMBARRASSINGLY SHIT Willie Nelson and his band were?

Kept going out of time with each other, the piano player had clearly only been shown a piano for the first time ever that day, Willie's voice was the only thing even vaguely ok about that.

I agree, that was really really bad and the presenters kind of made excuses afterwards, kind of wished they'd put more airtime on the good bands like ve and hot chip. Snoop dog shouldve stopped making music after doggystyle/the chronic.

Gorillaz were okay - they are clearly quality musically (stuff like Empire Ants is amazing) and I disagree that they don't have enough hits -Clint Eastwood, 19/2000, Feel Good Inc., DARE, Dirty Harry and Stylo are enough to intersperse n a set. It seemd likea bitof a weird atmosphere though - they didn't seem to really get going until the last two songs.

The small bit of Flaming Lips on the red button was amazing - would definetely have watched them. Also liked Hot Chip.

Bollocks I missed the Stranglers last night. Were they any good as they were the best live act I have ever seen at the Dome in March this year, they rocked the place to its foundations.

Are you on a mad one??

They're QUALITY!

This.

I thought Gorillaz were absolutely brilliant to watch - it's left me very tempted to spend silly money to see them play the O2 later in the year.

In saying that, I can understand people not getting it if they weren't familiar with their stuff, Plastic Beach in particular.

Flaming Lips were great as well, but they really should change their live visuals at some point - they've had that clip of a topless woman with green knickers dancing to "Do You Realize?" for eight or nine years!

Or then again, maybe not.

According to the Stranglers' website, the BBC didn't bother filming their performance.

I got bored of Gorillaz very early into their set, they didn't really seem to have any presence on stage, which is a shame as Albarn is normally v good.

Dizzee's set was brilliant, Florence was great (as you'd expect). V impressed with Mumford and Sons and Vampire Weekend - so much that I bought both albums after their set!!

On behalf of us older people, can I just mention that Jackson Browne was excellent. Happy idiots, all of us...

I'm going to rent myself a house in the shade of the freeway
I'm going to pack my lunch in the morning and go to work each day
And when the evening rolls around I'll go on home and lay my body down
And when the morning light comes streaming in
I'll get up and do it again, Amen
Say it again, Amen

I want to know what became of the changes we waited for love to bring
Were they only the fitful dreams of some greater awakening
I've been aware of the time going by, they say in the end it's the wink of an eye
And when the morning light comes streaming in
You'll get up and do it again, Amen

Caught between the longing for love and the struggle for the legal tender
Where the sirens sing and the church bells ring
And the junk man pounds his fender
Where the veterans dream of the fight, fast asleep at the traffic light
And the children solemnly wait for the ice cream vendor
Out into the cool of the evening strolls the Pretender
He knows that all his hopes and dreams begin and end there

Ah the laughter of the lovers as they run through the night
Leaving nothing for the others but to choose off and fight
And tear at the world with all their might
While the ships bearing their dreams sail out of sight

I'm going to find myself a girl who can show me what laughter means
And we'll fill in the missing colors in each other's paint-by-number dreams
And then we'll put our dark glasses on and we'll make love until our strength is gone
And when the morning light comes streaming in
We'll get up and do it again
Get it up again

I'm going to be a happy idiot and struggle for the legal tender
Where the ads take aim and lay their claim
To the heart and the soul of the spender
And believe in whatever may lie in those things that money can buy
Though true love could have been a contender
Are you there, say a prayer for the Pretender
Who started out so young and strong only to surrender

Say a prayer for the pretender
Are you there for the pretender
Say a prayer for the pretender
Are you there for the pretender
Are you prepared for the pretender

Top stuff from Muse there. And bloody well done to the beeb for showing it uninterupted, no twatty presenters talking, and shitty "arty-farty" camera angles.
