Still in Brighton
That’ll get the ‘No good music since the 70s’ mob going.
Yes, me included! Been many times but not since 2019 (maybe 18). On that list I'd only see London Grammar, The National, Fontaines DC and Paul Heaton. But that would be a good thing as would have left lots of time to bimble the circus/comedy/cabaret areas, always my fave.

That is Q Magazine: The Festival right there. Incredibly safe line up.

Also very dance and pop orientated.

Don't get me wrong, I'm fully aware Glastonbury is brilliant and I'm certain I would very much enjoy myself if I went. Just saying this year's line up in particularly feels a bit too risk averse for me.

Jeeeez...there's a Pyramid stage headliner (SZA) I have never heard of. I'm getting old.

I actually think SZA is a decent booking but clearly not the first choice. I missed out on tickets this year and for once I am not gutted. There are plenty on that poster that I would enjoy seeing but nothing that would wow me at first glance. My summer is already packed with Taylor Swift shows and AC/DC at Wembley, these will be the highlights of my year and this year Glastonbury cannot compete with them.

Agree but theres a smattering of some very good alternative stuff (Otokobe Beaver, Kneecap, Danny Brown), I'll be at those, maybe not with an England flag at Kneecap though :lolol:

Crikey. Main line up is a bit like a mid noughties indie disco. Thoroughly depressing. But you know there'll always be good music to find out in those fields.

I think the undercard is very decent, I mean just looking down the lineup I'll try to be at: SZA, LCD Soundsystem, Little Simz, PJ Harvey, Paul Heaton, Idles, The National, The Streets, Two Door Cinema Club, Bombay Bicycle Club, Bloc Party, The Last Dinner Party, Confidence Man, Justice, Danny Brown, Squid, Gossip, Sleaford Mods, Declan McKenna, Yard Act, Alvvays, Fat White Family, Blondshell, Soccer Mommy, Mannequin Pussy, NewDad, Kneecap, Fontaines, King Krule, Orbital, Baxter Dury, Mdou Moctar, Otokobe Beaver, Bar Italia. There is plenty to see for me and get my moneys worth.

As you imply, although the headlines are safe/boring and not really for me.
It is more about edgy underground/Indie for me, watching new bands and something different than Radio 1 bullshite.

Heilung look amazing but their music is pretty weak.
I know West Holts were already very excited about booking them last year.

As an aside/name drop , a roadie/friend from Bar Italia installed the bookcase in my lounge :lolol:
