How did you know the person was an Albion fan? Where they whistling Sussex-By-The-Sea as they lathered up or something?

For the first time I'm going to be in a caravan - luxury! This will finally be the cure to my post traumatic stress disorder since the play offs.

I'm already starting to battle with the complexities of the schedule e.g. can I watch the Villagers and still make it to the Pyramid in time for Nick Cave? Can I fit in the Foals on the Other stage between the Palma Violets and the Horrors on the Park Stage?

One of the first joys of Glastonbury is spending hours working out my timetable which falls apart at approximately 1.00pm on Friday.

Advice from any of you music geeks on any of the smaller bands, on early, that I should catch would be appreciated.

So, so true.

I am in this endless circle of one year seeing too many bands, and missing out on the other non-band stuff, and then addressing this the following year by doing lots of non-band stuff...to the detriment of the live music. So I then address this by seeing more bands the following year etc etc. 2013 is a non-band stuff year.

Not going myself this year, but of the not-massive bands I would recommend:

Alt-J - really good atmospheric indie, unusual vocals.
Two Door Cinema Club
Tame Impala - sorta glam rock, Kasabian mixed with MGMT i.e. not laddish.
Crystal Castles - difficult one, some of their tracks are near unlistenable but some (Vietnam) are superb, IMO.
Hurts - Bros meets Depeche Mode.
Phoenix - good US shoegazey stuff.
Bastille - You probably would've heard some of their stuff on radio/FIFA. Solid, very "now" indie.
Simian Mobile Disco - electro stuff, not sure if DJ set or wot.

Bit like an electro version of Yeah Yeah Yeahs at their most art-rock and arch.

I saw them at the NME gig a few years back; good fun. My missus is quite into them, and Karen-O and Co. I have heard great things about Pheonix so I will look them up.

Smaller bands you say, head this way.

Goat would be top of my list, the Sweedish psychdelic rock troupe are like an afrobeat influenced Polyphonic Spree.

Melodys Echo Chamber - Fans of Tame Impala may be aware that Kevin Parker of that parish is a driving force behind this project. Supposed to be excellent live

Toy - Unfairly maligned as a poor mans Horrors, live they are fearsome

Suuns - Post punk influenced Canadians

Yeah, Suuns are great. I have seen them twice already and will be seeing them again in August. Peckhams answer to Flying Lotus made me chuckle. I recently purchased Lotus' Until The Quiet Comes and whilst it took a while to understand (it's not my typical genre) I really appreciate it now so I will look up the UK version.

I remember being pretty impressed by the first Gold Panda album, haven't heard the new one.

There is a some brilliant electronic music playing actually I noticed when I looked at the bill t'other day. So much to do, my head would likely explode.

The line up is staggering good and very diverse. As usual I'm looking forward to Block 9 and they have some old-school Chicago house veteran DJs on, amongst much much more......

Thanks for the heads up on these, both added to my list of must sees! I'm no connassieur of reggae (loving only the The Harder They Come soundtrack and Johnny Osburne's Truth n Rights really) but now listening to Heart Of The Congos on repeat, fantastic!

Litterpicking again this year (4th time now), can't wait, especially hanging out in The Park and trekking up to the Rabbit Hole and Crow's Nest.

I'm most looking forward to the Stones; Django Django (best debut for ages) & Ben Caplan - shame I'm going to miss Bobby Womack though.

If you like electronic then F**k Buttons are playing and they are well worth a look. ( Also at Concorde in September)

Wow. I typically take the Glasto opportunity to see stuff I'd ordinarily not go and see and this particular comment interested me. I looked them up on the Spotify machine and I unbeknown to me I know virtually all the tracks on this album. I am not a reggae fan so I must I have heard them passively over the years. Good call, I will most certainly see these fellas, and expand my reggae beyond some Clash tracks.

They're on my list! Your avatar reminds me of a wonderful story on Radio 6 this week which Frau Tubthumper heard. Some graphic novelist is writing/drawing a book with Nick Cave, John Peel and Mark E Smith in it(yes, my mind boggles as well). He needed clearance to use their images, Cave and Peel's estate were fine....then he gets a phone call from "Haircut John" who says he and Mark E Smith want his address and are coming round. These two turn up, Smith with a can of beer, artist explains the book, the other two suggest they go to the pub, they get drunk, go back to the house by which time the artist's partner turns up with their kid. The day is rounded off with Mark E Smith singing Wizard of Oz songs to the little 'un. The author got the clearance he wanted.

Stories like this make my world go round.

Saw Johnny Marr at a Glastonbury warm-up gig on Thursday. Really, really superb. He's a top bloke - really friendly and up for a chat. His voice is actually pretty decent and his solo stuff is good. He chucked in a fair few Smiths songs and his cover of 'I Fought the Law' was brilliant.

I'm not going this year sadly, but for those who are, you should definitely catch him (John Peel stage, I believe).

Have fun!
