i'm sure its something to do with the fact that uefa competition rules ban a company from sponsoring more than one team in the same competition.
sort of a 'conflict of interest',

hence as celtic and rangers both are carling, rangers have removed their shirt sponsor for champs league games....not sure if celtic have as well tho....

I guess that Rangers saw fit to save a few quid and just blank out thier logos, rather than get some in specially, as it was only one game.


Not at all.

They were a lot smarter than that. They may have blanked the word 'Carling' but the basic logo was still there, meaning that the brand still got some recognition despite the rule. What's more it creates debate - the very debate you have contributed to - all adding to brand awareness. Clever old game.

Now that is a good answer, and thank you for it. I am honest enough to say I did not see the game, nor the shirts, due to being in Bournemouth last night, but I will take a look on their website.

Liverpool didnt have a sponsor on their shirts last time they played in France, it wasnt even blanked out, just no sponsor at all
