It's all anecdotal of course, but the number of friends of friends, and fellow villagers, who seem to be testing positive is WAY more than I can recall at any time in the past 2 years. We know it's spreading like wild-fire....but actually hearing the evidence from friends/neighbours is quite disconcerting.

This with whistles on. Throughout the previous waves I knew absolutely nobody who contracted covid. In the last 3 weeks I have heard from about 40 people that have had positive tests.

Fingers crossed that your PCR comes back negative. Pretty rotten to pick it up after 3 jabs if it’s a positive case though. Have you done another LFT to check the first?

No I haven't as it wasn't going to change the result of PCR. I shall await my fate one way or the other

My son is in Addenbrookes - which is almost next door to Papworth. Papworth does heart and lung transplants … my son has had a bowel transplant which is quite rare compared to other organ transplants.

I’m heading back up there again right now.

Thanks for the mask link - I will have a good look at those

Sorry to hear that and hope everything goes to plan

Talked myself back into it but booked a coach. Think a packed train is a step too far.

That’s good to hear, unpleasant as it is. Have you lost taste and smell too? I can’t help feel a sense of inevitability about it. Think everyone will eventually catch.

I think you’re right, this is astonishingly contagious. People we know/family (who I didn’t meet to pass it on to) are going down like 9 pins. Not conjecture by hypochondriacs, these are positive pcr tests.

I barely knew a soul who’d had Covid before this month.

Luckily for me, taste and smell preserved.

Today’s symptoms, so knackered. Dozed earlier and I’ve never been a daytime sleeper.

I am always stunned by the number of men who don’t wash their hands.

I recall a consultant in the hospital where I have an office not washing his hands after a pee. His comment was 'my dick is a hell of a lot cleaner than these taps and soap dispensers and towels'. It was a point I consider every time I use a public lav

TBF I haven’t read any of the latest research on transmission to fish.

It’ll be interesting to see what sort of crowds there are at tonight’s two games.
I can remember the build up to the Arsenal game in March last year….I had decided I WAS going to risk it when Arteta tested positive, and the whole EPL came to a halt. Obviously now we have the vaccines, so things are different - but with the proximity of Christmas I think I will give Wednesday a miss.

I'm going if its on. Not going to live the rest of my life worrying about catching this. Double jabbed. I might get it I might not. It looks like it's not going away, we can't keep locking down everytime we have a new variant. On radio, 1 expert says it's spreading like wildfire but it's not severe as Delta another says its worse. Don't know who to believe so will live my life as normal as possible but will abide by Government guidance

Reading this post, it sounds like hardly anyone is going tomorrow!

I am..! I think it's obviously going to be a subject that those not feeling able to go are going to justify themselves (no criticism, if I hadn't recently had Covid and wasn't double jabbed , or had a vulnerable person to consider I wouldn't go either) whereas the majority who will still attend probably aren't dwelling on it.

I very much doubt attendances will be down much at all, slightly yes buts that's all. Now if you ask about attendances of who normally goes/STH that's perhaps a different issue as I believe there are plenty in the wings happy to attend, but filter in its cold, near Christmas etc. too

Booked a car parking space but if I had not got one at the last minute I’d would have given it a miss, and I will stay out of the concourse area unless people are wearing masks.

Please please email Mr Barber about this.

It’s totally unacceptable that the club would cancel your ticket but I’m 99% sure that Mr Barber would write back and reassure you about the situation. If he doesn’t, post on here and we’ll all write him an email!!

well i did, and he replied.

i don’t think it right to post all the content on here, however ‘whilst he appreciates my situation, they can’t have 100’s and 1000’s sitting on ST’s particularly whilst there are waiting lists’. He understands that ‘wearing of face masks is compulsory on buses and trains and so they’ve done all they can to protect supporters’. He concludes ‘obviously if you don’t attend 25% of matches they reserve the right to cancel your ticket, but each case taken on merit’

He obviously hasn’t physically witnessed a train or bus to see how many do or don’t wear masks has he?

I’ve just made the decision to give this one a miss.

I have had a pneumothorax, and a pulmonary embolism ( I still get quite breathless, sometimes)previously, I’m diabetic and I have a heart condition and I’ve had cancer.

I think I’d be pushing my luck, and quite frankly, after insisting customers wear a mask most it the time I’d feel extremely hypocritical.
