I just txted my pal to say I've cried off tonight. I got in the car, with a borderline dodgy gut, and the 'black ice' warning light flashed at me and, with visions of cretins in black poncing about at t'Amex, and the prospect of tipping my car into a hedge at midnight on the way home, I decided to give the 4 hour drive a miss tonight. In solidarity with monty uk, and others who can't go, I will be watching it on the tellybox.

Let's hope I'll be all wistful at 90 minutes, sad I wasn't there we we gave them a proper thumping.

Still.....nice bottle of red wine....warmth . . .what's not to like?

Edit, five minutes later....I already feel like a dirty traitor. What have I done? ???

50+ years supporting the Albion through thick, thin, very thin and all weathers. Dirty traitor? Hardly.

It means that you can fill in the physical experience from memory.

Enjoy the wine and warmth.

Cheers, old pal.

That game was a bit special. But not in a good way :lolol:

Well, its come to the point where my disabled friend I take to the games who has struggled this season to get to many has decided its time to give up her season ticket. Means its time for me to find my way on to the waiting list. Is it solely a case of signing up for myalbion plus. I've looked on the website. I've clicked the join waiting list link and it takes me to that page where there isn't an option to just join the waiting list

My wife has pretty much decided she will be giving up her ST for next season, along with our son, 2yrs after I gave up mine. With the amount of changes to fixtures this season etc, they're finding it increasingly difficult to get to games - and have barely been to 3 or 4 this season so far.
She works at the hospital, and he has a burgeoning cricket career, which is now a year round job for him - so trying to fit in the Albion as well is becoming too difficult. Real shame as they still love going, but something has to give unfortunately.

Pretty sure there isn't one because they were flogging half-season tickets a few weeks ago. Check with Supporter Services but I'd imagine if you become and Albion+ member (now at a reduced rate for the rest of the season) you'll be offered the chance to buy a ST

waiting list is a bit of a wrong description at minute as having given up my ST last summer and become an Albion+ member - everyone in theory ahead of me on list did not want one - as got plenty of "get your ST now" e-mails both in summer and recently re the half season ST

Just ring up and buy a half ST Cant believe you will have to pay to become a member before.. If she is no longer going I suppose you could use her phone to get in for rest of season

There is no waiting list.

In November Barber said this .

"the overwhelming majority of Albion supporters continue to grow and enhance the club’s reputation, not least via the fantastic vocal backing we are continuing to receive here at the Amex, and also on the road (highlighted at Anfield last weekend). Having recently secured new club records for season-ticket sales, as well as selling out our 1901 Club for a third successive five-year term, we are now on the brink of setting a new club record for Albion+ club memberships while the season-ticket and 1901 Club waiting lists are once again starting to build. Think there is still a list as many have probably used the option to defer for a season and remain at the top of the list for next year

You could read this press release a number of ways:

1. Record ST sales means that for the first time since being in the PL STs have been available in greater numbers.

2. Albion+ membership is no doubt high because that is the only way an ST holder can share their ST with a friend or family.

3. Albion+ members can be added to the ST waiting list as part of the membership. Therefore right now an ST waiting list isn't necessarily indicative of demand for ST purchases given the ST sharing scheme.

Given there were half season tickets offered leading up to Xmas, would suggest ST seats are available and point 3. is probably quite close to the truth.

My understanding is that everyone who is an Albion+ member is on the ST waiting list

When I became an Albion+ member cannot recall ever being asked the Yes / No question do you want to be on ST waiting list?

You then get e-mails telling you say - first 1,00 oldest Albion+ members can but this day then say 5 days later is any ST left they go on general sale to anyone

ST have made it to general sale last summer and this winter

This suggests that most folk deemed to be on the ST waiting list as they are Albion+ members do not actually all want a ST

As if they did there would have been ZERO season tickets on general sale last summer and this winter

This in marketing terms will be a "one off" as we had loads of extra new seats and back end of covid etc

My personal view is some season tickets will again make it to general sale this summer

The club will of course imply that they will all sell out long before then

Its a bit like say you have 50 places for some event or other and then once have sold 30 are down to the "last few" ....

I have only seen 3 wins at home this season (I missed the Brentford game) but I am pleased I have kept my Season Ticket going.

I don't think I will ever forget today. The football lately has been exquisite

I have posted on this thread rather than the troll one as I know fans have a genuine reason why they don't wish to renew.

Not sure what else I would do on a Saturday anyway.

Good times.

Caught up with a few acquaintances on Saturday ad was shocked to find that they have all (separately) decided to bin off their season tickets next season.
I was genuinely shocked by this.

Two of them will be splitting their time between Worthing and Brighton games.
The other two will be focussing on away games.

The two focussing on away games will struggle to get tickets if they have given up there season tickets

I can understand their motives and logic, plus money is a valid reason for many in giving up the season ticket. And maybe things will not look as bright if we sell Biss and Trossard.

However, that Man Utd performance showed what could be possible. Lamptey, Caicedo and Mwepu will only get better, we have Undav and - possibly - Enciso too if we go back in for him. Exciting times.
