They should get questions submitted in advance (I know this would risk accusations of avoiding particular issues but they could at least then pick the key themes) but by the time 'Bob from Pevensey' has (after being told 4 times he's on mute) painstakingly explained how long he's been a supporter, how he travels to the ground, where he sits, what his favourite pie is and a eulogy about how lucky we are to have Tony and Paul at the helm his question on why we don't leave someone up at corners is lost.....................

…. at which point Jonny Cantor announces to a room of skeletons that it’s 8pm and we’re out of time.

Unfortunately I cannot see the club are bothered by what they'll see as a few ppl giving up season tickets. There may not be a waiting list but there will be ppl to plug a few fall outs. Times have changed. The 'product' (because thats what its become in the PL) is different from say league 1/2 and then non-league. I enjoy them all in different ways. If you can find something to enjoy in each it helps but understandably sometimes there feels more losses than gains. PL football is expensive. We are in a pandemic. Priorities are changing. Its costly being a PL club. Is it what all fans had vision, hope for when at Withdean? Clearly not for everyone. Constant changing match KO dates time, TV rules. The fan often gets left behind with these alterations. Until the fans perspective is raised i doubt much if anything will change.

…. and the hour disappears quickly, time wasted.

By lickers in speeches praising the panel, on repeat, or vvvvveeeeerrrrryyyyy slow talking donuts questioning tactics or matters covered in depth in the past.

I thought you said you weren’t attending this year Westie?! :kiss:u

There is on the confirmation of registering the option to send in questions ahead of the Forum, this is similar to the other virtual events. I have submitted questions ahead of a couple of these, which were covered, although I had to ask a couple of questions live at one the earlier events as they hadn't been covered by PB in his general positioning ramble.

The worst part of these Forums, is those who don't listen to what has been said earlier and ask the same question, and surprise get the same answer. It would be far better if PB just said asked and answered , next question please, rather than repeating the same answer.

Dare we ask about away European allocation for next season, and how the club propose to deal with European football,

Did the ST waiting list disappear effectively to zero?

I know but it's just a simple line ('please send questions to....') - would be better if they said questions need to be submitted in advance, and the club will then pick the key themes of interest

:lolol: This made me chuckle, it’s exactly the Forum in a nutshell. Perfectly surmised! Paul Barber earns his salary in one night having to sit through. Bloke has patience of a saint, I couldn’t do it. Needs someone like Edmund Blackadder to host (“yes yes yes but get to the bloody point or I’ll shove one up you!”)

It sounds like a lot of you would benefit from a return to the Championship. I've enjoyed Fulham being a yoyo club the last few seasons especially as one of the shit ones in the EPL was behind closed doors. At least you see your team win in the Championship and anyone can beat anyone (one of the 2 teams we've beaten 7-0 away (gulp, never expected to type that) is now 3rd! I felt the same as a lot of you after watching Fulham just survive in the Prem year after year. At least I had a better home matchday experience with decent pubs and a proper wooden seat in a wooden stand to sit on. And it was a good bonding experience with my young daughter who also has a ST.

This season has been by far the worst with the lack of Saturday 3pm KO's. I'll still renew, only had ST 5 years, but not a JCL, been going since 1988. The quality of football and players we see live are the best we have ever had in the stripes. Whilst I loved the bundles in the Goldstone North Stand when we scored, the toilets and food were dreadful. Forgive me, but I never went to Gillingham, the Withdean was what it was, an open air athletics ground. Bloody awful when it rained. The Amex is a fantastic stadium, we are lucky to have it, and whilst little things can be a PITA, I still love walking up to my seat at the start of the match, whoever we are playing. Everyone's circumstances change, and one day I'm sure I'll hand mine in, but can't see that happening for many years. Enjoy going to Crowborough Athletic for the odd game, but it will never hold a place in my heart like the Albion

Listen out to my question (AKA speech), spoken at 1mph.

"Good evening panel, Percy from Polegate, I've been an uber supporter since 1899. May I just take this this opportunity to thank Tony, Paul, Derek, Martin, Uncle Tom Cobley ............ [5 minutes pass] .......... Graham, his staff ...... [5 minutes pass] ........... Hope. These are unprecedented times to be an Albion supporter, with the stadium, squad, league position and training facilities. Also thanks to Jonny and Warren. What was my question?"

Audible snoring from those present.

And that's European football, something I never dreamed of when Brighton were in the old Div 3!!!

Neither did I, but is the holy grail a second rate European competition or the league title.? Unfortunately premier league success is based upon survival. Rather in the same way that we got over excited by our SUCESS of drawing the 4th test against the Aussies. If we had finished 7th each year in the lower leagues would we celebrate or eventually get fed up?

I still can't get over the question a couple of years back around whether the club was going to buy their own trains...

No, because you get nothing for finishing 7th in the lower leagues other than it is likely you were almost good enough for the play-offs and that is an opportunity for promotion. Are we likely to win the EPL, no, but then were we ever? In the 45 years I've been going, 10 teams have won the title, 4 of those only once each (Leeds, Villa, Leicester and Blackburn) and Everton twice. The rest shared between the most of the 'big six' (sorry Spurs).

Do I want to watch a team that is happy to languish in the lower leagues or watch one competing against the some of the best players in the world.

You also dismiss a second rate European competion. Well Uefa Cup and Cup Winners were second rate compared to the European cup. Would you not bother with a wembley trip in the Carabao Cup which is clearly second rate to the FA Cup which itself is second rate, by some distance, to the EPL?

Think you need to change a lot of you to a few of you. Yes it was great when we used to win most home matches etc but we are now playing in the best league in the world watching some of (most of?) the best footballers in the world. Yes sometimes it has been very painful but we are now playing very good football and getting some good results. I'll take what I have for a good few years more.

Get relegated and then spend the next season/s trying to get back to where you were. I think I’d rather stay in the PL thank you.

The trouble is that fans will eventually mirror the club, if you see your clubs desire to only SUCEED by staying up, then surely as a fan you are happy with this SUCESS. Personally I have bigger aspirations than succeeding as an also ran. Yes it's wonderful being in the top division but surely you should try to be the best. It's a bit like schools new policy for sportsday : no losers only 7th place winners.

I find this such a depressing thread. I keep checking back in to see if people are doing a 360 but each time it’s just more people writing several paragraphs about why they’re giving up. I guess everyone has different scenarios and decisions to make but it absolutely stuns me that so many are just walking away. Imagine supporting this club through all the shït we’ve been through just to throw in the towel when we’re in the best position we’ve ever been.

Trouble is, does the club consider this the best position we will EVER be in. If you were told that staying up was our objective next year would you be happy? Or would you rather pay a bit extra and you knew the club were not going to sell the best assets and go for it. I can't have a season ticket as I work shifts/weekends etc. but I would prefer to pay for a challenge on the top 6 than paying to stay in the premier league. It's just that only losing 0-4 being better than 0-5 doesn't excite me.
