Really? Where a few crackpots ask inane questions about the car parking and tactics alongside some well prepared blurb from Barber and the ticket manager? Not convinced that's a better way of finding the mood than, say, hundreds of replies on here.

You can have mine ... in WSL and the very last 2 seats before those with no concessions. Think you can ask the club to switch (next season) if interested

Personally I love going to watch live football. I've been watching the Albion since 1974 and I've been to more away games than ever this season. I've got no intention of giving up my season ticket and have never been treated like a minor (or major) hooligan. I buy a coffee and a bottle of water (minus the lid) when I go to the Amex and have no experience of being nickel and dimed. Of course the experience of going to football in 2022 is different to what it was in the 70's and 80's. Some of it is worse but mostly it's miles better in my opinion. I use my season ticket for myself and the one or two occasions a year I can't use it I put it up for resale on the official site, where it sometimes sells. I'm not sure if I am different to how most fans experiences are these days or whether there are many fans like me who are mostly happy with things and don't join in these discussions...

I have been supporting my Albion since 1956 and that means numerous away games. How thrilled am I that we are jousting with the elite week in week out. None of our meteoric rise would have been possible without Uncle Tony and I have no doubt that when the time is right he will yet again put his hand in his pocket.
Yes, last night was not good. I travelled down from London somewhat in trepidation but I know the B team gave it their all and wanted nothing more than an Albion win. It was not good and it didn't work but it wasn't a 7-0 defeat a la Leeds
It will probably take many years before we become an established top 6 team, which I firmly believe we are capable of but meanwhile we have to take the knocks as well as the plaudits.
Why give up just when we might be on the verge of greatness.

We are of different views then. Entirely reasonable to have different viewpoints. I too have been watching since the late 70's but have had enough. I want to be able to take my own drink, not be jammed for £20 when I want to give my ticket to neighbour when I can't go (and him for another £20) nor see the PB comms, some of which I find insults my intelligence.

But it's a personal view and I appreciate I am in a minority. Sad really as I won't ever stop following the team and it's successes and failures

My wife and I are also giving up our season tickets at the end of this season which is for me very sad as I have had a season ticket since the late 1970s I only missed one game while we were in exile at Gillingham and only a few while at Withdean and then the Amex and until this season have enjoyed all of our highs and lows, the reasons I am giving it up are mainly to do with the constantly changing fixtures it makes planning an impossible task and means I am missing more games than I ever have and not being able to pass my ticket onto my daughter or brother is money down the drain, so instead next season I will get be going along to my local team Lancing where I can walk to the ground have a beer on the terrace and I am also planning to travel to watch a game in every round of next years FA Cup from the preliminary rounds to hopefully the final.
I will still follow the Albion and get to games as and when I can, but mostly I will follow them via the television

Yep - I think these are the sentiments of many. Me certainly. Nye Camp for me next season.

Everything just seems to get that bit more difficult now. First it was kick off times making it impossible to plan, then it was parking (for me anyway, recognise this doesn’t affect all), then it was the policy around ticket transfers, then it was the inability to sell your season ticket if you can’t go unless the game is sold out….

On their own, these are manageable, but when you add them all up…..

I'd be very surprised if there's another price hike.

There hasn't been a price increase for 3 years. The last 2 seasons - prices have been frozen.

I think that was a sensible decision from the club as it might have pushed more to not renew.

I think they will have to be pretty inventive this renewal period to encourage those who will be wavering e.g. be offered the chance to upgrade my ticket is not likely to work when the seat has not resold and has sat empty for last 10 (?) games. They should be asking me why I am not attending and what are my plans and should be doing the same to the many who are in a similar position to try to see if there are opportunities for both club & fan. But I can't see me renewing my season ticket to just not use it, can't afford to do that.

Presumably you'd prefer it if they didn't hold events where fans in person or (now over Zoom etc) met Bloom, Barber, Potter, The head of ticketing /Jenny Gower and others from the club and discussed issues from safe seating, sharing tickets, womens football, buying a striker, bottle tops and catering prices. Most clubs don't do events like this or as many. They certainly don't have to but i think its impressive that they do.

For what it's worth, i think the events are great, but would be a lot better if they actually offered paying fans a chance to contribute or give their opinion/feedback, rather than just listen to the well rehearsed justification of decisions that are already made and won't change.

Well said. It’s no surprise that there are more complainers than supporters on this thread because that’s the nature of the issue (the silent majority and all that).

What surprises me is that “ST affordability” doesn’t seem to be a major direct issue - people cite KO times, ticket transfer, VAR, club comms, Sky, etc as reasons for not renewing. Perhaps the fans who can’t afford it are silent, or maybe our cohort of fans are financially comfortable.

No, just checked and they haven't been frozen for the last 2 seasons. They increased for 2020/21 and were frozen for 21/22.

So the first statement was entirely justified and I'm not sure why you're apparently spoiling for an argument.

As I said, I think the club will likely get it right this time and there isn't much more room to squeeze more out of supporters.

Same reason I binned mine off, when you’re an exile too it becomes almost impossible even before the e-ST controversy this season. I now follow the Albion on TV illegal streams or radio. I’ve put enough money in the coffers down the years like you, walk up fans are treated with utter contempt, we’ve almost become props in the whole pantomime. Far from creating friendships through football, it’s now destroying them. Coming together for the love of the Albion decimated by television and PL greed. Modern ‘elite’ football just sucks, should have been the ultimate reward for decades of lower leagues football but instead it’s a rotten, expensive often nightmare of a match day because of television. As you say, NL football has much to attract “legacy” fans.

They should get questions submitted in advance (I know this would risk accusations of avoiding particular issues but they could at least then pick the key themes) but by the time 'Bob from Pevensey' has (after being told 4 times he's on mute) painstakingly explained how long he's been a supporter, how he travels to the ground, where he sits, what his favourite pie is and a eulogy about how lucky we are to have Tony and Paul at the helm his question on why we don't leave someone up at corners is lost.....................
