Cup, given the choice.

This is a golden age for the Albion - we need to make it count by breaking our major trophy duck.
I concur.

It's all about the silverware of course, but even reaching a domestic final would still be a major milestone. And we've been close in recent years.

In a one-off game with the football we play and Mitoma and Minteh exploiting the width of Wembley, we could beat anyone.

Was that a school of flying pigs I just saw or just a Pink Floyd cover ?!

Come on now: Ange always wins a trophy in his second season.

I can't bring myself to press the buton that says lose to chelsea in either option.

2 Draws with a win on Penalties feels like a decent compromise to me.

Call me a massive nerd, but reading this made me feel obliged to look up the much quoted "wide open spaces of Wembley".

It turns out that, despite the rules permitting quite a bit of leeway in pitch dimensions, many clubs in the PL (including us) have the same size pitch (105 x 68m) because that's the standard for playing in European competitions. The largest pitch of current PL clubs is the City Ground at 105 x 71m, followed by- perhaps surprisingly- Goodison Park, at 103 x 70m. Then you have a cluster of clubs, including Arsenal, Bournemouth, Brentford, Villa, us, Man United, Man City, Newcastle, Spurs etc, all with the standard UEFA 105 x 68m pitch.

The smallest pitches are Palace (101 x 66m) and Fulham (100 x 65), which- if we were Mikel Arteta here- we could use as a perfect excuse for always losing at Craven Cottage. The loss of three metres making all the difference.

Moving on to Wembley, you'll doubtless be as entranced as I was to learn that the pitch dimensions are 105m x 69m, so, smaller than Forest or Everton, and a mere one metre wider than our own hallowed turf :)

I am gladly adopting your logic, however, on the basis that it means we must be a near certainty to win at the City Ground in a couple of weeks, right? :D

Cup and it isn’t even close. League will be 67 points to get Europe if you extrapolate current standings (top 6 gets it) if spurs win the league cup. This means we need 11 wins from 16.

Arsenal, spurs/villa, West Ham, chelsea would be out too, so if a Liverpool/city clash it’s wide open.
Europe will almost certainly be top 8 this season.

Win both, I hate these hypothetical questions
Agreed. I also vote we win every single game this season 10-0 (except the Palace game should be 24-0), and maybe win the World Cup in 26.

Yes, Brighton entering and winning the World Cup.

I think Europe is a long shot, and one loss to Chelsea in the league wouldn’t make or break our chances if we win the games we can hope to win (starting with Everton).

I said before a ball was kicked we should aim for top half and a cup run. With the LC gone, this cup game has to be prioritised in my opinion.

Such a which leg do you want to cut off question. Fortunately its rhetorical so I want to stuff them both times. Cucurella and Sanchez getting red cards during either match for bonus points. Aim high.....
