I can see Dunk taking the step up and Max becoming a backup option - his stint on loan at Kilmarnock, whilst not the greatest level of football (but not the worst) will have given him some experience and game time...I can see him being gently eased into the squad, much like Solly was this season.

Dunk needs to develop alongside an experienced centre half who can coach/talk him through games. This should have been Upson but Greer does seem capable of this role, as he did not appear to either Dunk or Elphick before his injury. Our conveyor belt of local centre halves have generally had the 'old head' to assist them: Butters, Morgan, Cullip,etc, as far back as Cross and Burnett.

I would start with Dunk as the loan window goes on for about 6 weeks from the start of the season so if Dunk fails still time to bring in a loan signing
