Haven't done one of these in a while....

Kuipers - 6 - Banana boots is back. Couldn't do anything about the goal
Whing 6 - good defensively, but has lost the fairly crucial ability to pass
El-Abd - 5 - not entirely his fault...why is he at left back?
Butters - 6 - Went missing for the goal
Elphick - 7 - solid in the main
Cox - 5 - pathetic
Hammond - 4 - What happened to the Hammond of Friday night? Slow, lazy, and careless
O'Callaghan - 7 - Good player, some classy touches...but lack of movement around him reduced his effectiveness.
Martot - 4 - Put at least 3 crosses in the stand. Rubbish.
Forster - 4 - have we ever had a lazier forward? is Wilkins SCARED to take him off?
Savage - 6 - Bit of an off day from Bas, but did far more than Forster.

subs:
Robinson 6 - he has pace. PLAY him
Revell - 4 - fluffed a great chance
Hinsh - 5 - good to see him back.

They were there for the taking. In fact, they were hopeless. But we played so defensively and spent far too long pratting about with the ball in the centre circle. VERY disappointing after last week:nono:

Same old RUBBISH :angry::angry::angry:

That's the frustrating thing - the word 'same old'. It's not. Last week we played poor opposition and BATTERED them. We went for it - we ran at them, we attacked them. And we played well!

This week it was obvious from a very early stage that Gillingham were no better than us...but it wasn't until the last 5 minutes that we showed any indication of actually wanting to score. I don't understand where this 'play more defensive away' idea has come from - we didn't do it last year, and we got good results.

Sorry must disagree with your Forster being lazy comment. Ineffective maybe, but I think lazy is a bit harsh. Also Cox being pathetic?? Again harsh in my opinion.

El-Abd seems intent on setting up goals against us with woeful pass backs to Kuipers.

Stop moaning, WENDY wanted consistency, and he has got it. 3 away games, 3 defeats.

Kuipers - 8 comanded his box and made some vital saves
Whing 6 - good defensive play
El-Abd - 5 - good tackles but always a worry on the ball
Butters - 7 solid
Elphick - 8 - outstanding
Cox - 5 - pathetic
Hammond - 6 - lazy and careless
O'Callaghan - 9 - wonderful to see a Brighton play with such composure on the ball. Shame everything went thorugh him making it predictable
Martot - 4 - Looked good on teh ball and then did nothing useful with it
Forster - 5 - certainly not his day. WOrked reasonably hardf achieved little
Savage - 6 - no protection from ref and achieved little

subs:
Robinson 6 - wanted to run at everyone every time and sometimes that cost us possession
Revell - 7 - finishing aproblem but looked a better threat in teh air than anyone else had managed.
Hinsh - 6 - made some brave tackles at the end

Kuipers 8. One great save. Could do nothing about the goal.
Whing 8. A really strong display.
Elphick 8. Excellent display. If it was him who lost the guy who scored their goal then a 7.
Butters 7.
ElAbd 6. Not too bad a LB, but would have preferred to see Rents.
Martot 5. Not effective. Poor crossing. Why start him ahead of Jake? Stupid decision.
O'Callaghan 8. He's good.
Hammond 5. Dissappeared for long periods. Not a captain's performance.
Cox 5. Very poor by his standards.
Savage 6. OK, but should not start ahead of Revell. Did not win much in the air. Revell does. Use him as super-sub maybe.
Forster 6. Does not yet impress. Maybe he doesn't get the ball to his feet often enough. If that's what he needs then we need to play differently.

Subs:
Revell 8. Started to make things happen.
Robinson 7. Better option than Martot.
Hinsh. Not enough time, but good to see him back.

Elder should have been on the bench.

Manager 5 for not selecting Rents at LB and Jake at RM, and not taking Bas off earlier. Oh, and for not sitting in the dugout.

Kuipers 6- His kicking was below par today.

El-Abd 6- Why the f*** did Wendy play him at left back, when we had Rents on bench.
Elphick 8- Very solid game, won nearly every header and got into some bone crunching tackles.
Butters 7- same as Elphick, but went to sleep for their winner.
Whing 7- Read some passes very well, made some important interceptions and got stuck in at vital times.

Martot 5- Needs to adapt to English football and fast.
George 7- Passing was good, broke up some of their attacking play. Needs to weight his passing in the air.
Hammond 6- I'm not sure about this, but is he still feeling the effects off his nasty gash he picked up?
Cox 5- Got pushed out of the game from the start, couldn't get going what so ever.

Savage 6- Kept running, made himself a nousense but didn't create or shoot through.
Forster 6- Needs the ball to his feet, or will not see the best out of him.

Subs:

Revell 7- Got on eventually and gave the Gills the run around. Should of taken the chance he had through.

Robinson 7- Made some good runs, but needs to cut inside more. and cross the ball aswell. Couldn't do anything about George's switching balls because they were normally to high for him.

Hinsh 6- Good to see him get on the pitch again, still alittle rusty. but made an important challenge to stop them running one on one.

Wendy 5- STAY UP IN THE DIRECTORS BOX UNTILL HALF TIME, AND THEN COME DOWN IN THE SECOND HALF.......

Wendy say's the team don't believe in themselves but it's HIM who has the lack of faith.

These lads are good and can get better if we would just go at teams. Most fans will support them if they show guts and fight. What we can't stand is seeing our team surrender to a club who are, at this point, pretty low.

why oh why does Wilkins rave about the quality of Rents's delivery then leave him on the bench for the whole of the next two matches, when Lynch got injured/ didn't play?

kuipers - 7. nothing wrong, except one trademark hollywood save
whing - 6. defensively good, but for a man who last season looked fantastic going forward, he was poor today
el-abd - 4. gave the ball away countless times, needless booking and generally inept. not helped being played at left back
elphick - 7. one of our best performers
butters - 7. solid as always
martot - 5. pointless
hammond - 4. even more pointless
o'callaghan - 5. didnt get involved as much as normal
cox - 5. pointless
forster - 5. didnt get ONE chance in front of goal - not really good enough for the supposed "20 goal a season" man
savage - 5. did nothing. should have been of at half time

Because he doesnt no what he is doing ....he clearly cant rates Rents ...our team yesterday lacked shape because we had two right footer on the lefthand side...the substitutions looked predetermined rather than linked to what was happening in the game

Kuipers - 5 - Kicking was rubbish.
Whing 7 - One of the few players who looked any good
El-Abd - 2 - Should never play at left back again. Total gash
Butters - 6 - Solid
Elphick - 5 - Was out of position for the goal and was out strengthened
Cox - 5 - Infective
Hammond - 5 - It helps to look when you pass the ball
O'Callaghan - 5 - Lack of movement meant he was limited to hopeful balls
Martot - 2 - Could have crossed the ball 4-5 times but failed to do so.
Forster - 5 - No supply all day. Long balls upto him don't work, especially when he is up against tall center backs
Savage - 6 - As above Bas was being out fought in the air but the long balls kept on coming....
subs:
Robinson 6 - Should have started
Revell - 6 - I expect he will be back in the starting line up next week
Hinsh - 6 - Will soon be a regular starter if injury free.
