The temperature is important because under fog if the temperature rises above freezing the 100% humidity will melt the frost almost immediately (as opposed to crisp dry air, when frost can persist with much higher temperature).

still very frosty in BN43 which is gonna make my daily walk to the pub VERY dubious in my shoes with no grip. I shall check the Pitch (front lawn) at 12pm for signs of softness and report back as to whether tonights traditional "Passing Out Ceremony" onto the turf will land me with a hard crack or a soft bump.
