My iPhone 4 contract with O2 runs out in 3 weeks, and I'm strongly contemplating changing over to giffgaff! I might as well order a new sim now, right? (Through superbez link of course )

Edit: Ordered sim, I'll probably activate it when my contract is close to running out.

I'm going to move to giffgaff as in 2 weeks I'm moving out of woodingdean up to Burgess Hill, I've been on 3 for 10 years and never had a problem until recently as the signal strength is shocking now, it's just bombed out on me, plus I don't get signal in the new place.

O2 have great signal strength where I'm moving to so for me it's the way forward.

I've 5 months to go til my 3 contract ends so I'm intending to drop this contract to minimal possible outlay, get the phone unlocked (HTC desire HD) and pop in my new giffgaff sim.

Can I port over my number whilst this contract is still active?? And is it true what I've heard about no voicemail on giffgaff?

Any replys would be welcome...

There is defo voicemail I can assure you. I'd been meaning to post on this thread for a day or two, the latest payback is on it's way, I've earned £30 in the last 6 months so in 18 months i've been payed £130! Amazing.

Please order your sim through this link, you get £5 free credit upon activation for doing so and I get a little something too!

Honestly, it's by FAR the best deal out there!

You must be do a roaring trade! Could you effectively get giffgaff to pay for your contract if you use the forums a lot and recommend lots of people?

To be honest if I put some effort into it I could earn a lot more. I never use their forum anymore (I never have a problem - True) I do appreciate you guys ordering through my link and in return I hope I can help you on your way! Just got an email come through regarding a sim order, I assume thats you? Once again, thank you :)

Payback confirmed
You have chosen cash as the method to receive the payback points you've earned until 31 MAY 2012. You will receive an email from PayPal from the 13 JUN 2012 to confirm the transaction.

Like I said, AMAZING!

Amazingly cheeky use of NSC? Agreed.

Over there
Thanks to help from superbez, I changed to giffgaff nearly 2 months ago and advise others to do the same. £10 a month goody bag, 250 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited data would be fine for most people. And I've had no problem with the network that others have alluded to.

Definitely looks like the way forward:cool:

I shall order a sim soon:thumbsup:

Do you get to choose your number or do they assign you one?

I'd still like an answer to porting a live contract number if anyone has one...???

You can change it over to your old number if you want: that's what I did. Had to ring my old network and get a code, superbez will be able to tell you more

Yup ring your current provider after you have activated your giffgaff sim and ask for your PAC code. They usually post it to you but you might get it over the phone. The number changeover can take a few days so maybe get a spare mobile and keep it handy.

Will they still give me a PAC code and release the number even if I have 5 months left to run on my existing contract? I'm only going to giffgaff is because 3 doesn't work where I'm moving to......

I would have thought your current provider won't release it unless you have either reached the end if your contract or if you reach a settlement fee? I may be wrong

No its not, my son's latest phone, HTC wildfire is 100 min, unlimited texts unlimited internet, £5 per month, Agreed shoud have been £10 per month but to stop me moving it to another provider gave it to me for £5.
My Virgin, sim only, Was originally 600 mins, u/l text & Internet, for £8 per month, recently phoned me to say i was not using the 600 mins and would be better to downgrade me to 400 mins, and reduce cost to £6 per month, there a lot of deals out there.

However i do need sim cards for going to the states, do they do them with u/l text's internationally?
Both Virgin and T mobile work out too expensive for this,
