No. Giant big f***ing great wasps. Maybe it's just out here in the countryside. They might be hornets, I'm not sure, but I'd never seen them before this summer.

there was something on 5live I caught the last 2 minutes of where they were saying we have lost 3 species of Bee in the last year:down:

Bees are vitally important to the ecosystem and its very worrying seemly.

Thos ebig wasps are terrifying, one hit my windscreen and it exploded like some huge exploding wasp thing! I had to put on the washers dontchaknow and stuff

Me too. Hate them. My sister reckons she saw the Queen giant wasp the other day. The size of a small bird she says. I don't believe her.

Hornet's a really only found in heavily wooded areas and are generally not as 'vicious' as common wasps.

those wasp type things that hover ? do they sting ? they are sadistic bastards too , hovering near your head and when you swipe at them they simply move then get closer to your head, You can almost hear them shouting "Up yours you lard arse , Come On , Have another go"

I used to kill them in a variety of ways but then I heard one squeal in the most high pitched and terrible tone one day as I burnt it and I vowed never to kill one again.

I know what you mean, they don't sting though they're hoverflies.

Hate horseflies as well, evil bastards.

Same here. I'm allergic to the buggers so when I get stung I swell up like a balloon. Those hover flies are harmless. They are also impossible to kill.
