Sorry if this is ground covered in the past. After nightmare traffic the last couple of times and failing to make the game for kick off I'm considering getting to the ground via Lewes on the train.
What is the parking like in and around Lewes station on matchdays, and how is it after the game? The guess the travel is included with the ticket..

Park down by the South Downs College (just past the Dripping Pan). It's free. It might even by free at The Dripping Pan for matchdays. Failing that there's free parking at Cockshutt Lane.

7 minutes by train.

Travel is NOT included with the ticket.

Coming in by camel over the Downs is increasingly popular. It's a club-subsidised scheme with a guide thrown in, and saddles and bridles are VAT exempt.

Bit risky as you can be clamped if you do not have a permit.

Literally takes 5 mins on the trains

Its the getting back by train thats the problem though, far more so for the evening games. We waited in the queue for an hour each time for the Liverpool, Leeds and Palace games.

i did say in a past thread that we get to Lewes early, that way we find a parking space, mario at thye italian in market street will give you a free beer with your lunch there if you have a match ticket for that day then wander down and get the train, not sure if he does that after the game, sure we'll try oneday, keep you posted. Try having a beer at Amex after, the que soon gets shorter, no problem

Getting back is the problem. nightmare queues for the 3 carriage trains. Just what is it about Southern that they can't put on more carriages and trains?
