Someone's gotta have a moan...if only a small one.

Decided to get the bus back from falmer station. Seemed really well organised over the bridge, and will get better as people get to know where they are going.

Lack of service buses though, not helped by a 28 bus, barely half full, deciding to swerve the crowded bus stop and then the next 25 was full and the 23 filled up without taking all. I had rather thought the B&H would have had a bendy bus or two waiting to whisk us all away.

Anyway, i walked to Coldean lane and picked up a bus there. The Hikers looked like it was rocking!

Did anybody use the new 'S' bus today? passed one after picking the car up from Mill Hill after the game and it was virtually empty from what I could see. Might well give that a go next Saturday.

I can see it being a bit of a pain getting away immediatly after kick off but I think I'm going to meet up with some mates and have a drink before leaving most games.

Why would you want to get away immediately after kick off? Even pornomagboy generally manages to make it to half time before going home.

We left game and were on train at just after 5 and then connection easy and back to eastbourne by 530. Fantastic service. Better than my first match of train travel at withdean by a mile.

Yes got the first one. Clapped the team of the pitch, walked out and straight onto the bus. It left fairly promotly with a handful of people standing. Boy does it go around the houses though, but we were back in Shoreham by 17:50. I then saw another pass, which must have been the second one. I guess they had less people and took a short cut.

Got home a couple of hours ago to Hastings, as others said, there was a big cue both to and away from Brighton, but with approx 7000 people wanting to get on trains it was expected. Tbh I thought it was very well organised and marshalled, I was impressed with how quickly we got through the huge queue and onto a train and away to Lewes.

Stayed for a drink with mates, mooched around the shop for a few minutes, went into Dick's bar for another drink and then caught the 6.50 train with no queue and plenty of seats. Easy peasy.

My sister and I were discussing this today, that is what she said but I pointed out that as each one is a different colour unless someone who has paid for it is stupid enough to tell someone who hasn't what colour it is this week they won't know what colour to copy it to?

Was told by someone at the club last night that they will be checking cars passes against member lists from the next matches - today was a test day and they werent that strict as ground was not going to be completely full.

I That said, the walkway is very wide and some people were queing on the right when it seemed others just walked past and joined at the bottom. All in good spirits today so was fine but can imagine people getting aggy when its cold and raining. Perhaps needs better organisation in that respect.

.

Definate lack of information, we were heading back to Lewes, crossed the bridge on the right hand side and went down the steps to the usual station entrance which was closed. Somebody said (not staff or police) the entrance is back there Didnt realise there was a
slope going down to the platform entrance until we got back to the bridge, so we did jump the queue but nobody stopped us. I assume they will stop people doing that in future as it does save a bit of time, although we would have still caught the same train.

It was a ramp up event for us today as well (Mid Sussex Seagulls)

Had a drink after the game and moved down to our 77 seater coach at 5:30. Dropped off members at Hassocks and Burgess Hill. We were back in Haywards Heath just after 6.

Today exceeded our expectations. We now have 53 season ticket holders for our double decker coach.

For information. We are SOLD OUT for Doncaster but we are taking names for a waiting list.

Cheers

What information will they use then? They didn't take a car reg when we booked. Will they be asking to see season tickets and checking against a list of names?

Sounds like it went well today which is good news as will only improve once we all work out the best mode and route of transport for us. Talking of which, not knowing the buses are there any buses from around Hove station to and from Falmer or 2nd choice from Brighton station?

Seems like the old adage,"Let the train take the strain!" is the way to go,after the match, walked back to my car in Bennetts Field, said goodbye to my son who was going by bus to Mill Hil P&R Then by car to Northampton,I live in Hailsham about 10 miles away,by the time I got out of the 1901 parking and got home (7PM), I phoned my son and he was just going on the M25. I moved two parking places in 50 mins, did let one car out in front of me...Will Hoskins but all in all complete shambles in the car park.
