As for how "harmless" it is - its not been around long enough to judge the long-term effects - yet. But I would safely assume that actively inhaling a pungent, sweetly flavoured nicotine-based chemical into your lungs on a regular basis AIN'T going to improve your respiratory system for later life.

If you're into it though then go for gold. Just don't puff that foul-stenching shit around me.

I agree. Vaping rules should be the same as rules for ciggies. And you are right. I cant believe that the inhalation of myriad chemical flavourings and additives has been passed as safe. On what basis?

So what you mean by “self police” is report to a steward? You really should have been clearer. I know what a lot of other people mean by that phrase and it’s not “report it”.

The ground IS self policed. In the 80s and 90s there were a line of OB down the stairs behind the goal who picked people out for pretty much anything. Now it’s stewards only, many of whom are fans too.

The issue appears to be that they’re not doing their job. You shouldn’t need to report a massive cloud that smells like an 8 year old’s sweetie draw, nor openly celebrating West Ham fans in the SW corner. They’re obvious and need slinging out. Yet we have a post on here stating a steward told someone just to blow it in a scarf.

In that case starting a thread on here is a great idea. The club read NSC and will be aware of this now. Far better than bringing. back in the police.

If it really got people off fags and then stopped off nicotine totally it would be fine. But they’re actively targeting kids, many of who can’t cope with the addiction and skip lessons at school.

Cravings are worse when you’ve been drinking so the minority are basically spitting neon flavoured air at people who don’t want it at football and other places.

I saw a woman in her 40s take a last drag on a vape just outside Boundary Rd Tesco this morning and exhale it inside the shop all over the security guard. Try doing that with a Marlboro Red. Must be massively addicted to behave like that.

They didn't bother me too much tbh, as the smell of them isn't as offensive. The long-term effects of smoking are well known to everyone though.
