It's absolutely disgraceful how long the ODPM are taking to decide on the Falmer application. The issues are not really that complex. One can only assume, therefore, that politics are playing a key part in the continuing delay. Hasn't this matter dragged on for long enough? Get your finger out John Boy.

No, it's almost certainly not politics, it's the pace at which civil servants feel like working at.

The Labour Conference is at the end of September, the week before the Tories. If there is no announcement by then, it wouldn't take much to organise a protest. We are past masters at it, and we could do it every day if we had to. There is one small problem with that - the Security Island. Protest too close, and you will probably be shot at.

Excellent idea. There's plenty of bridges between Pease pottage and Patcham. Why stop at the bridges? If we can get enough banners, how about the grass embankments alongside the A23?
