Well all good advice and my lad was told all this but still went and 'did the business', a holiday in the states and a new car costing more than his salary.

years later, aged 27, he's back at home, we have to field letters and phone calls and he makes payments which would take the rest of his life to clear. he misses the pubbing & clubbing he used to do and the chance to meet some bird.

Young Russ, now you are 20 leave those teenage thoughts behind you. I don't think one person has differed from the advice you have been given and I suspect most are talking from personal experince too.

Stick within your means, Cleethorpes is very nice in Summer, isn't it?

we've all done it, and spent years paying off the debts.

Good advice "would" be to apply for a Capital One credit card which you'll get with a low credit limit. put food and drink you'd spend otherwise in cash on it, Set up a 100% direct debit to avoid the extortionate interest rates, and prove to creditors you can be trusted to borrow money.

I said "would", as you are 19 and will likely struggle to avoid temptation of putting a holiday or the such on it and have to pay back huge interest.

The most curious thing..
Russ didn't get any points on his licence because he forked out £150 to go on a 1 day driver awareness course organised by Humberside Police. The downside to this is being on the database for the next 7 years.
So he had been speeding and/or :drink: as well ????:eek::ohmy:

What's so bad about a cycling holiday around the Lincolnshire coast anyway?

You have no clue about money Russ.

You already had a car, a lush seven year old 206?????

What happened to it??? You cannot have writte off another???
are you a shit driver???

You can get a 12 year old car with 10 months mot for 800 quid if you are paitent, Set aside £400 from two months.

But I have a micra, a month it costs £200 to run a month, but next month i have to pay £60 for windscreen excess on top and two months after that tax. THIS IS A MICRA. Im down to £900 after that. Last month I went to the casino halfway through, and lost half that sum, do you know what I did after that? Sit tight.

I still have student overdraft as well, which im being charged for, it will take 3-4 months to clear it on my current salary of £1200 a month. JUST SIT TIGHT AND WORK HARD.

Banks rip off everyone. There is no point in saving, despite what my mum says, spend the money wisley on items that will make you progress. For me thats quite hard because i am attracted to dirt skanks on my time of the month, but thats my problem.

CARS ARE A HUGE BURDEN

Unbelievably it's just got better.

Talk about the blind leading the blind. Now we have the NSC Dumbass Legend giving lectures on life choices and the right path to take.

Taking a turn into a side road too fast , he crashed into a parked car as he was trying to avoid an oncoming security patrol van (also going at speed) , a 6 pointer but because he has held a licence less than 12 months (at the time) it would have had an automatic ban. Had he been 3 seconds earlier it would have been a fatality with a head on with the security van at a blind bend.

I'm not entirely sure myself - possibly:

"Don't bother saving any money, spend it on prostitutes instead. Sometimes they offer independent financial advice as part of the service."

I'd be concerned if I was menstruating though. Have you had that checked out?
