Sad news from The travelling Welsh Seagull army , (4) , Roger has to stay at home and do some shelving , so our not so trusty Vauxhall Vectra , hasn't made it out of Wales yet due to a faulty thingymabob, so apologies to Eric in the Prince Albert , it's not looking good for our estimated time of arrival.

Just offering a different perspective. Given the very low numbers attending there’ll be plenty of opportunities to socially distance on public transport and being seated outdoors further minimises any risk. But it’ll be interesting in two weeks time when there’ll probably be 30K in attendance. That’ll be quite the contrast from tonight.
We need this game to go ahead as Dunk, Webster and Trossard have had no preseason game time yet and it’ll be good if Maupay gets on the scoresheet to boost the confidence levels before the serious business starts next Saturday.
Just hope this bloody rain would piss off!

I had assumed so but nothing on the website. Perhaps it will appear just before kick off with very little fanfare. Hope so, as watching this game was literally my only plan for today !

Cannot understand some people here as I went to six games in the 2019-2020 season and I travelled all the way from Poland to see the games at the Amex and all people here have got to do is to sort out a few piddling documents - astounding.

I think in many cases it's not the documents and protocols, possibly more the friendly game, the opposition and some reserving their excitement for next Saturday's trip.

It depends if football is your life or not.
I get the impression that we have a group of “supporters” who follow the Albion for 19 (home/League) matches a season and do something else for the rest of the time. Cup/away/friendly matches don’t seem to count!

It appears to have sold quite well nonetheless.
It’s not compulsory going to every game, some people cannot go to/ afford away trips.
Not talking about myself here, some seasons I’ve been to some away games and some I haven’t bothered, same with friendly and cup games.
I definitely wouldn’t look down on any fellow Albion fans for avoiding an evening friendly match.

Not sure about your last example. There’s not that many making the trip to Burnley. Surprised we’ve not sold more. I suspect most going tonight are also going next week too.

Nope, we had thousands at the city game.
Totally agree. A fan is a fan. I just don’t like it when people try to justify why you shouldn’t go to a match just because they aren’t going.
A friendly like tonight’s is a great opportunity to take kids and others who might not usually go. Small crowd, fairly cheap, less congested transport, a chance to watch our “1st” team and a pie. Help the club with its covid protocols.
I guess some fans will be watching the rugby.

I strongly doubt Burnley away is on anyone’s bucket list. But as the vaccine is demonstrating it’s effectiveness and things are slowly easing off, a chance to watch the team you support away from home after so long has a certain allure. Living life as a hermit for the last 15 months is no life at all.
