So Ticketmaster OWN what is basically a touting site where people can buy and sell gig tickets for over the ticket price.

So Ticketmaster sell someone a ticket and get the booking fee and what not then they sell their ticket on this website where Ticketmaster also take a fee on the touted price.

How is this allowed?

I really don't understand.

*****.

How does one know that someone who works at ticketmaster doesn't just buy a shitload of tickets and chuck on em this other website for more and that?

Something seriously needs to be done about ticket sales.

There should be a complete ban on resale, in any form. In this day and age it's totally possible.

If you can't go, you should be able to get a full refund, then have the ticket sold to someone on an official waiting list.

The amount of empty seats you see at "sold out" events is a joke.

So i own a piece of property, but I'm not allowed to sell it. And even if you did think that was a good idea, how the hell would you enforce it.

Buy straight from venue, send back any and they go on resale.

SURELY the best way.

Paying FIVE quid for a 'booking fee' when nobody has done anything aprt from you anyway takes the f***ing biscuit mates.

The problem is you can't enforce it. I just hope a lot of ticket companies go bust in the current climate

Ticket companies are going to be the one making the money these days. The value of recorded media is plummetting. Bands are going to be touring a lot more to earn money, rather than touring to promote albums. At least that is until the music industry sorts out their business models

I was thinking about ticket companies that charge over inflated prices for tickets. For example I have seen tickets for Depeche Mode going for £75 or more.

Ticketweb are a joke. Every time I buy a ticket for a night which costs about a tenner, I end up paying them about £3.50 on top in 'fees'!

The booking fee for Creamfields tickets this year £11.50 on a ticket that costs £100. They are a f***ing joke!

I hate booking fees with a vengeance!

Taking the above example

£100 plus £11.50 b/fee

Why not just call it £111.50 for the ticket and do away with the booking fee?

Then there is no bad taste in the mouth
