I hope this story isn't true. If there's one city in England where these sort of urban myths and vicious rumours circulate it's Liverpool, as we saw with the "Benitez has resigned" story.

As for sabotaging our chances, it's hardly the fault of the press that our leading players are hell-bent on f***ing up their lives.

At the end of the day the England first choice XI - with one or two exceptions - are a bunch of *****. It would be nice to think they'll win the trophy and become part of football folklore like Charlton, Moore, Hurst et al, but it's more likely to be a decent 10 plus 1 superstar Argentina '86 thing with Rooney playing the part of Maradona, that's if they ever stop shagging and string 7 results together.
